Railroad crossing sounds. Sound effects and vehicle ambient sounds (21–30)

The sound of the railroad crossing

This is the sound of a railroad crossing made with relatively new electronic tones.

Unlike traditional crossing sounds that tend to provoke a strong sense of alarm, the siren tone designed with consideration for the surrounding residential environment has an appeal sufficient to evoke a sense of modern technological progress.

Note that this is a field recording, so some everyday ambient noises are mixed in.

This piece is a challenge to recreate the familiar railway crossing sound effect on the piano.

When the author actually listened to it, many parts closely resembled the current crossing sound, resulting in a very realistic experience.

Highly recommended for those who love the sound of railroad crossings.

Railroad Crossing Dissonance: Three Consecutive Crossing Alarms at Meitetsu Ina Station (East)

This work records a railroad crossing gate lowering, accompanied by a blaring siren.

The audio quality isn’t the best, but because you can watch the gate actually come down while listening, it feels more realistic than a piece that only includes sound effects.

It’s a railroad crossing sound effect! 🙂

This is a piece that edits the sound of a railroad crossing for use as a sound effect, characterized by its depth and very strong sense of realism in the resonance.

While the audio quality isn’t exactly top-notch, it’s more than sufficient for typical use, and its small file size makes it easy to handle, which is a notable advantage.

Railroad crossing alarm sound generator

This work uses a level crossing alarm sound generator to recreate siren sounds actually used on railways.

Since it employs the same equipment used in the field, it is overwhelmingly superior to other works in terms of realism.

Another advantage is that it has far less noise than natural recordings of trains.

This piece features an actual level crossing alarm sound generator, a device very popular among railway enthusiasts, which the creator purchased and is operating.

Because the sound of a level crossing has very strong acoustic effects, the uploader has devised ways to suppress reverberation.

As a result, you can enjoy the crossing sound in a somewhat more subdued form.

This piece captures the process of creating a railroad crossing alarm sound using a microcontroller.

While it isn’t a pure railroad crossing sound-effect work, it’s a valuable video that lets you listen to a wide variety of prototype sound effects.

The trial-and-error process is very entertaining and makes for a highly engaging watch.
