Christmas art with handprints and footprints
Christmas crafts made with handprints and footprints are an exciting idea you can enjoy together with children! They’re suitable even for infants from 0 years old, so please feel free to use them as a reference.
Take a green handprint to make a Christmas tree, a red footprint to make Santa’s outfit, or a brown footprint to turn it into a reindeer! The decorating step—sticking on round stickers and more—is something even little ones can try.
Christmas art that children help create themselves will surely become a cherished memory.
Stained-glass-style tree made with transparent origami
Here’s a stained-glass-style tree you can enjoy decorating on walls or windows! By using transparent origami paper, you get a lovely see-through effect.
For prep, make a tree by accordion-folding construction paper.
Sketch a tree shape on a clear file folder, then attach small pieces of cut transparent origami to fill it in.
Trim around the edges, glue it onto the construction paper tree, and fix it to a base—and it’s done! It also looks adorable if you change the color of the construction paper tree or the colors and patterns of the transparent origami paper.
Snowman socks
Here’s a craft idea for making socks with a snowman motif.
Kids can have fun creating a Christmas item by sticking on stickers and beads or drawing their own snowman illustrations.
As preparation, make sock shapes out of construction paper.
Then, paste the freely drawn snowman illustrations onto the socks and decorate the area around them with snowflakes, stars, and other Christmas-themed parts or stickers.
Once finished, display them in a row or connect them to make a garland—both are highly recommended.
Christmas boots

How about using a Christmas boot motif for a holiday craft? Cut colored construction paper into the shape of a boot, punch holes around the edges, and thread yarn through them—simple and fun.
To prepare, draw boot shapes on colored paper and stars on origami paper so things go smoothly on the day.
The children can cut with scissors, draw their favorite pictures, and attach the stars.
Finally, have them thread yarn through the punched holes.
They can put a letter to Santa or a small gift inside the finished boot!
Bill of Exchange Tree

Many people have created handprint art for events like birthdays and kindergarten graduations.
Let’s try adapting that handprint art into a Christmas tree! First, draw the trunk of the tree on colored construction paper.
Next, make handprints using green paint.
If you use green paint on a red background, you can capture a festive Christmas atmosphere! Slightly changing the shades of green will also make it easier to tell whose handprint is whose.
Of course, you can use paints other than green too! Finally, decorate with the words “Merry Christmas,” ornaments, stars, snow, and more to finish.
Give it a try for inspiration!
Christmas tree lacing

Here’s a Christmas tree craft idea that kids can enjoy while practicing lacing.
For preparation, cut out a Christmas tree and ornaments from construction paper.
Since you’ll be threading pipe cleaners through both, punch holes in them beforehand.
First, thread one end of a pipe cleaner through the tree and secure it so it won’t slip out.
Then, let the children choose their favorite ornaments and thread them onto the pipe cleaner.
Once several are on, secure the other end of the pipe cleaner to finish.
Prepare ornaments with various motifs to create a lovely Christmas tree!

Christmas tree made with transparent round stickers
The translucent, cute Christmas tree will also shine as a room decoration.
You can display it in a daycare room or give it as a gift for the home—there are lots of fun ways to enjoy it.
For preparation, cut a clear file into a triangle.
The corners can be sharp as-is, so don’t forget to round them! Have the children decorate with translucent round stickers.
If you prepare a variety of colors and patterns, it will turn out pop and cheerful.
Finally, outline the file with construction paper, add a star and a mini Santa, and it’s complete!
