Snowflake Tree

How about a snowflake tree as a wall decoration that’s perfect for December’s main event, Christmas? By adding snowflakes with various patterns to the tree, you can create a dazzling Christmas tree! The steps are simple: cut blue-toned construction paper or poster board into a triangle to make the base of the tree.

Next, use origami paper to create snowflake ornaments with paper-cutting.

Once they’re ready, keep sticking them onto the tree.

Finally, attach a ribbon or a snowflake to the top of the tree to make it even more gorgeous!

Warm Bear

Many children love drawing.

But even at Christmas, simply drawing a picture doesn’t feel very special, does it? That’s why I recommend making a Cozy Bear craft.

With this project, you can enjoy the resist painting technique: when you paint over a crayon drawing with watercolor, the crayon lines appear vividly.

You can even adapt it so that the teacher draws the illustration and the children reveal it with paint.

Tip: press firmly with the crayon—stronger pressure makes the lines stand out more and look more three-dimensional!

Torn-paper collage Christmas tree

Torn-paper collage Christmas tree

Would you like to make a Christmas tree using the torn-paper collage technique? It’s an especially recommended idea for two-year-olds, who can focus on the simple tasks of tearing and sticking.

First, have them tear origami paper in colors you’ll use for the tree, such as green, light green, and yellow.

Prepare a container and have them put the torn pieces into it to keep the table tidy.

Once the pieces are ready, start sticking them down in the shape of a tree.

It’s great practice for using glue, so create an environment where they can concentrate.

Finally, add a big star on top to finish.

Fluffy Christmas Tree

Sturdy Christmas decorations can be reused the following year.

However, some people may not like using the same ones every year.

For those people, we recommend this fluffy Christmas tree you can make with construction paper.

You cut round pieces of construction paper into fine strips, add some curl to them, and then layer them to shape it like a Christmas tree—that’s the distinctive feature.

Decide which parts the children will make based on their age and development, and have them take on the project.

Colorful Christmas cards alone can heighten the excitement for the holidays, can’t they? Try adding Christmas-themed decorations with drawings or stickers, or even making pop-up elements—by increasing the steps to match your child’s age, the anticipation as you work toward completion grows, too.

Not only is it fun to keep or display the card yourself, but creating one as a gift for someone else may let your child enjoy the process with a different feeling than usual.

It’s a project we highly recommend—seeing the finished card is sure to boost everyone’s spirits.
