Dreaming Of YouART-SCHOOL

Formed in 2000 around guitarist-vocalist Mr.

Kinoshita, who was then active as a solo singer.

They are a Japanese grunge band that cloaks itself in a heavy, dark atmosphere, setting to lyrics the whirlpool of emotions that surge within.

Depending on the song, the occasional beautiful guitar tone adds a sense of fragility.

Whether in Western music or Japanese bands, there are times when listening to darker songs calms the heart, right? You can feel that especially strongly in ART-SCHOOL’s tracks.

It’s probably because Kinoshita’s vocals, which carry a hint of darkness, somehow free what’s inside my heart.

B Kind Brothers, formed by Yonsentoshin and Hoshino Disco on “Ariyoshi no Kabe.” Some say they’re inspired by Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS, but the truth remains shrouded in mystery.

It’s also fun how they shift concepts from song to song—starting with “Drink water,” which feels like it was modeled after a certain sports drink commercial, and a track called “K.A.I.T.A.I.” that sings about wanting to own a cat.

The mix of their exceptionally high-level vocals with delightfully laid-back, hard-to-describe dance moves is downright addictive.
