[Easy to Play Even If You're Not Good with Both Hands!] Simple piano pieces for absolute beginners. Recommended piano songs.

For those just starting the piano, playing with both hands is probably the first big hurdle, isn’t it?

It’s especially confusing when your hands have to move differently.

In more difficult pieces, it’s normal for the left hand to play octaves, and fast passages appear frequently.

Of course, few people tackle such pieces right from the start, but many still choose the wrong pieces to begin with.

This time, we’ve selected some of the simplest works from the piano repertoire, especially for beginners.

The Four Seasons: No. 1 ‘Spring’Antonio Vivaldi

“The Four Seasons – Spring” Movement I by Vivaldi [Piano Playing Guide with Video: Absolutely Playable for Beginners] Level: ☆☆☆
The Four Seasons: No. 1 'Spring'Antonio Vivaldi

The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, a Baroque composer, was written as a set of violin concertos.

It consists of four pieces—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—each structured in three movements.

Among them, the opening melody of the first movement of Spring is especially famous.

The chirping of birds rejoicing in the arrival of spring, the murmuring of a stream, and a pleasant spring breeze are expressed through the soft, gentle tones of the strings.

Because the main theme stays within the range of a single octave, it’s easy to grasp on the piano, making it a piece that beginners can confidently try.

It’s ideal to convey the original lightness and softness on the piano as well.

Merry Christmas, Mr. LawrenceSakamoto Ryuichi

Merry Christmas, Mr. LawrenceSakamoto Ryuichi

Merry Christmas, Mr.

Lawrence, one of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s signature pieces, captivates with its simple, poignant melody.

Composed as the film’s main theme, this romantic piece evokes winter snowscapes and a calm, reflective atmosphere.

Because it relies heavily on repeated motifs, it’s easy to remember and quite approachable for beginner pianists to perform with composure.

While the composition itself is simple, some arrangements add many notes or complex chords that can make it harder to play.

To start, choose an arrangement built from the melody line and minimal accompaniment, and enjoy performing it while fully appreciating the beauty of the piece.

Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9 No. 2Frederic Chopin

The next piece I’ll introduce is slightly more challenging.

Frédéric Chopin’s famous Nocturne in E-flat major, Op.

9 No.

2 is generally considered an advanced, difficult work, but there are editions of the score that even beginners can play.

I’ll be explaining it on the assumption that you’re using one of those editions, so take note! The key to practicing this piece is to work on each hand separately.

Practice the right hand and left hand on their own, then put them together.

By repeating this process, you can achieve a cohesive performance.

It’s a somewhat difficult piece, but I encourage you to give it a try.

Waltz of the PuppiesFrederic Chopin

[Piano] Minute Waltz / Chopin / Puppy Waltz / CANACANA
Waltz of the PuppiesFrederic Chopin

Frederic Chopin’s famous piece “Minute Waltz,” with its strikingly fast passages.

Because it’s frequently used in the media and elsewhere, many people will find it familiar.

As for its difficulty, it’s roughly at an intermediate level.

The increased difficulty comes primarily from the right-hand passages; the left-hand accompaniment isn’t particularly hard.

If you’re a beginner confident with fast passages, try playing this piece while paying close attention to the accompaniment as well.

Three Sonatas for Children, Op. 11, No. 2: “3. Evening Song” Op. 118b-3Robert Schumann

A piece whose gentle character wraps the calm of the evening in piano melodies.

Composed in 1853 by Schumann as an educational work for his own children, it is technically approachable and well-suited for beginners.

Its leisurely tempo carries a soothing sense of comfort.

Ideal for cultivating delicate expressiveness, it’s recommended for those who value the beauty of tone.

Written with home performance in mind, its warmth makes it perfect for practicing in a relaxed atmosphere.

As an introductory piece that offers a glimpse of Schumann’s poetic sensibility, it’s well worth the challenge.

Carnaval, Op. 9 No. 12 – ChopinRobert Schumann

Written in A-flat major, this work is a musical portrait that Schumann dedicated to Chopin.

Composed between 1834 and 1835, it expresses Schumann’s deep respect and affection for him.

Characterized by delicate, poetic melodies, it is an enchanting piece that evokes Chopin’s signature, graceful piano sonority.

It is relatively approachable for beginner pianists and ideal for those who wish to learn Chopin’s musical traits.

Just as Robert Schumann introduced his contemporaries through the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, this piece can be seen as a musical dialogue that conveys Chopin’s allure.

Despite its relaxed tempo, it offers richly expressive interpretation.

Minuet in F major, K. 4, from Nannerl’s Music BookWolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The elegant minuet composed by Mozart in his childhood is notable for its bright, warm melody in F major.

Though simple, it embodies the stylistic beauty of Classical-era music, presenting a refined ternary form within a brief piece of about a minute and a half.

Written in May 1762 when he was just six years old, the work beautifully balances gentle harmonic progressions with a sophisticated melody.

It is characterized by a clear structure and pleasing sonority, and it also conveys the dignity of courtly dance music.

This piece is recommended for piano learners and for anyone wishing to explore Mozart’s musical world.

As you carefully weave its graceful melody, you can fully savor the joy of music.
