An idea for a no-sew accessory case made using strong double-sided tape and fusible interfacing.

It explains in detail how to apply the fabric and interfacing, allowing you to nail the basics and achieve a neat finish.

The appeal is that you can create a three-dimensional shape without using needles or a sewing machine.

The cute, plump cube shape is great for organizing your desk area or shelves.

Adding a leather strap with hardware further elevates the design.

I felt it was a highly satisfying DIY idea that combines practicality with good looks.

Prepare a square piece of fabric and fold up two adjacent edges by 2 cm.

Then attach a collar-like self-adhesive felt to the lower 1 cm and double-sided tape to the upper 1 cm, and fold it back so that the self-adhesive felt is slightly visible.

This part will be the overlap of the kimono.

Turn the fabric over so that the overlapped section is on top, and place a clear file with your wish paper inserted in the center.

First fold the top and bottom corners, then fold the left and right corners starting from the left.

Once everything is securely adhered, attach a ribbon obi at the center and on the back.

Finally, decorate with your favorite parts and add a ball chain to finish!

Scrap-fabric brooch

Great for small gifts★ Make use of fabric scraps—don’t throw them away, no matter how tiny!
Scrap-fabric brooch

A brooch is a lovely item that adds a stylish accent when pinned to your everyday outfit.

It’s fun to make your own fashion accessories, isn’t it? This time, we’ll show you how to make a brooch without using any needles.

We’ll also use leftover fabric scraps as materials.

If you have odd bits of fabric left over from a craft session, give this a try.

Cut a craft foam ball in half and attach small, square-cut fabric scraps to it.

You’ll fold the fabric squares and assemble them in a style similar to tsumami-zaiku (pinching craft).

Because there are many steps that require concentration and fine motor skills, it can be effective as brain training for older adults.

Adding pearls or beads will make the finish even more beautiful.

Easy, no sewing needed! Fukumamori

The “Fukumamori” charm, which can be made without needles or thread, is a project that seniors can work on with confidence.

Cut felt into a 4×12 cm piece, make slits about 8 mm from the top and bottom, then use double-sided tape to sandwich a pom-pom and a string inside.

Decorate by attaching fabric and buttons, and tie the string to complete the owl shape.

By choosing different eye buttons and color combinations, each piece gains a unique expression, resulting in a simple yet polished protective charm.

It’s an inviting and auspicious idea, perfect for displaying in an entryway or on a wall.

A bag made from a tenugui (Japanese hand towel)

No needles, no thread, no fuss! Super easy! A no-sew bag! Just cut and do ○○ ♡ I’ll share the pattern❣️ 20220707_bag
A bag made from a tenugui (Japanese hand towel)

It’s handy to have a bag you can take for quick outings or shopping.

And it’s even better if it’s easy to make.

So here’s a bag made using a tenugui (Japanese hand towel).

You can use one you already have at home or even one from a 100-yen shop.

A tenugui on its own is thin, so you might wonder, “Can you really make a bag with it?” You can by attaching the tenugui to something sturdy, like Kent paper or cardboard, cut to the size of your pattern.

Since you glue the fabric to the paper, there’s no sewing required.

With this method, you can make bags and small items in various sizes.

Give it a try and use this as a reference.

Cardboard knitting

Easy with everyday items! Cardboard weaving [hand knitting, yarn]
Cardboard knitting

Did you know that knitting has recently become a trend, especially among young people? Some older adults may also enjoy knitting.

However, there may be seniors who find it bothersome to knit as they get older.

And when it comes to knitting, many people imagine using two needles, which can seem difficult.

So here’s a simple knitting project using cardboard.

You just cut slits into both ends of a piece of cardboard and weave the yarn through—that’s all.

By changing the material, you could even make items like coasters.

Please use this as a reference and try creating some lovely pieces.
