Shinyaku-sai, held every October at Niigata University of Pharmacy and Applied Life Sciences in Niitsu, Akiha Ward, Niigata City. Each year it comes alive with a variety of guest appearances, club and student-run food stalls, and other events. There are also live performances by artists at the main venue.

Koshō Festival | Niigata University of International and Information Studies (Mizukino Campus)Sat 10/4–Sun 10/5, Niigata Prefecture

It’s a school festival with plenty to see, including talk events, theater club and dance club performances, and choral concerts. Some events offer opportunities to experience different cultures, and the food sold at the stalls spans a wide range of genres, so I think you won’t get bored even just walking around.

Gidai Festival | Nagaoka University of TechnologySep 13 (Sat) – 14 (Sun), Niigata Prefecture
