Niigata Institute of Technology is located in Fujihashi, Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, and was established in 1995. Niigata University of Rehabilitation is a private university located in Kaminoyama, Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, established in 2007. It aims to train physical therapists and speech-language-hearing therapists. The school festival is called the Shinriha Festival and is held every June.
The Gidai Festival, which welcomes many citizens every year and functions as a venue for interaction between the university and the community, features laboratory open houses, lectures, concerts, stage performances, and various food and game stalls, and also hosts a science experiment class for elementary and junior high school students. Its school festival, the International Festival, is a lively event that also features participation from the university’s alumni.
