[Food Edition] Who Am I? Quiz Collection

chikuwa

It is said that the name “chikuwa” was given because the cross-section looks like a cut piece of bamboo. In Chiba Prefecture there is “shiro chikuwa,” considered the prototype of chikuwa, and in Tottori and Nagano Prefectures there is a food called “tofu chikuwa,” made by adding tofu to fish paste. Chikuwa is handy for all sorts of things—oden, bento side dishes, and of course as a snack with drinks.
