No worries if you’re tone-deaf! Easy karaoke songs for men in their 40s (141–150)
Roses and WineRED WARRIORS

This is the second single by RED WARRIORS, a Japanese rock band formed around former Rebecca guitarist Takehiko Kogure and Yutaka Tadokoro, released in April 1987.
It’s a very cool rock song with a slightly bouncy rhythm that really stands out! If you’re in your late forties or so, some of you might even have fond memories of playing this in a band.
The vocal melody doesn’t span a particularly wide range, making it quite easy to sing, so I recommend choosing it casually for karaoke and focusing on capturing the song’s atmosphere.
Just be careful when you actually sing it to keep that original bouncy feel from flattening out.
Time, stop.Yazawa Eikichi

It’s Eikichi Yazawa’s fifth single, released in March 1978.
It was chosen for a Shiseido commercial that year and became a big hit.
The song is crafted as a medium-to-slow tempo number that brings out Yazawa’s cool, rugged vocal style, and perhaps only men in their 40s and older can truly recreate that “ruggedness” when singing it at karaoke.
The vocal melody doesn’t use a particularly wide range, and there aren’t any notably difficult rhythmic parts, so by all means try it at karaoke and show off the charm of a cool, rugged singing voice.
Romantic Flightkome kome CLUB

Songs that continue to be loved across generations often have melodies with a universal appeal that anyone can sing.
Kome Kome Club’s signature song “Roman Hikō” is truly a timeless classic passed down through the ages.
Released in 1990, it was a massive hit that boosted the band’s mainstream recognition, and for those now in their mid-to-late 40s, it’s likely a nostalgic tune that brings back memories of their elementary or middle school days.
When singing it at karaoke, be mindful of the contrast between the low notes in the verse and the soaring high notes in the chorus, and take care not to go off pitch when the key changes in the final chorus.

Pink Spiderhide with Spread Beaver

The band hide with Spread Beaver, which won a lot of support from men in their 40s.
It was hide’s band formed after X JAPAN disbanded, and they produced many classic songs.
Among hide with Spread Beaver’s tracks, the one I especially recommend is Pink Spider.
While the sound is loud, the vocal line itself has few long sustained notes and doesn’t involve complex pitch movement.
Since it requires shouting technique, if you can clear that hurdle, it’s actually a fairly easy song to perform.
homeKiyama Yusaku

An inspiring ballad filled with a father’s warm love and his hopes for his child’s growth has been delivered by Yusaku Kiyama.
His gentle, soothing vocals convey deep affection for family, and though the storytelling is simple, it leaves a lasting resonance in the listener’s heart.
Released in February 2008, the song was selected as the ending theme for Nippon TV’s “UtaSta!!” and Yomiuri TV’s “Joho Live Miyane-ya,” and it also earned a spot in the 59th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen that same year.
It’s a great choice for karaoke when you want to reflect on family memories or express gratitude to someone special.
Like softly returning a handclasp under a bright sky, it’s a song wrapped in kindness.
Love and a Machine GunFlipper’s Guitar

Flipper’s Guitar was a band that gained popularity for its inventive sound, which distilled neo-acoustic and Shibuya-kei into indie pop.
Many of you may know them as the group that produced two renowned musicians: Cornelius and Kenji Ozawa.
Their song “Love and Machine Gun” is one of their signature tracks.
While it has a jazz flavor, the vocals aren’t particularly jazzy.
Rather, the vocal line is subdued and ennui-laden with little dynamic variation, making it far easier to sing than a lot of typical J-pop.
MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLEV6

V6, an idol group that was hugely popular from the 1990s to the early 2000s, produced many hit songs.
Among them, the one I especially recommend to men in their 40s for its singability is “MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE.” Centered on eurobeat, which was the trend at the time, the track features sharp, memorable synthesizers.
In contrast to the sound, the vocal lines are quite restrained, staying within a narrow range throughout.
It’s packed with catchy phrases that anyone can sing, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
