Masterpieces and popular songs by Fujifabric
Let me introduce you to some tracks by Fujifabric, whose songs carry a somewhat wistful mood that makes them so compelling.
Speaking of Fujifabric, the sudden passing of their vocalist Masahiko Shimura in December 2009 was truly shocking.
Even so, it’s moving to see that they didn’t stop and have continued their activities ever since.
Right after Shimura’s passing, at COUNTDOWN JAPAN, artists who were close to the band performed Fujifabric’s songs.
Among them, Tamio Okuda—who inspired Shimura to pursue music—reportedly broke down in tears during the live set.
Please enjoy the music of Fujifabric, a band beloved by many musicians and fans, and still cherished to this day.

Fujifabric’s famous and popular songs (31–40)
Vacation in Cannes feat. Takayuki YamadaFujifaburikku

This song became a hot topic with actor Takayuki Yamada participating as a guest vocalist.
Its energetic vocals and sense of speed are captivating.
It was selected as the theme song for the documentary series “Takayuki Yamada’s Cannes Film Festival.” The chorus will make you want to sing along.
Released in 2017.
Bataashi Party NightFujifaburikku

As you can tell from the title, it’s an upbeat dance tune.
It’s included on the 2013 EP “FAB STEP.” Its mysterious, addictive sound is perfect for the nighttime vibe.
Definitely use it as background music for a special party!
PlanetariaFujifaburikku

Fujifabric is a three-piece rock band that has overcome numerous challenges and continues to perform energetically today.
Their single Planetaria, released on October 25, 2023, was chosen as the theme song for the TV anime My New Boss Is Goofy.
The lyrics, filled with kindness that ties in with the anime’s story, warm your heart just by listening.
It’s a pop tune that lifts your spirits, with a refreshing, piano-featured ensemble that feels wonderfully comfortable.
Baseball never ends.Fujifaburikku

Either The Monkees’ “Daydream Believer” or the ending theme of Dr.
Slump Arale-chan—this song’s intro must be an homage to one of those.
The band has a strong pervy/degenerate vibe, but this track has a warm, laid-back feel, perfect for a sunny day off when you’ve got nothing in particular to do.
I think the lyrics are about never losing your boyish heart and continuing to chase your dreams.
to meetFujifaburikku

It’s the first song featuring Souichiro Yamauchi on lead vocals, included on the 2010 album “MUSIC.” After the guitarist-vocalist Masahiko Shimura sadly passed away during the album’s production, the remaining members completed the track in his stead.
It’s a masterpiece that blends a driving sense of speed with catchy hooks.
Fujifabric’s classic and popular songs (41–50)
Planet of the BearsFujifaburikku

An upbeat tune with funny, China-evoking phrases.
The lyrics are pretty nonsensical: a “dream match” where the “Nordic bear” and a “bearded tai chi guy” fight over a flag (lol).
The lyrics are mysterious and whimsical, but the way Shimura and Fujifabric belt them out makes it sound undeniably cool—something only they could pull off.

A number from their indie days, it’s quite different in character from their songs after the major-label debut.
With funky, wah-infused guitar chopping and a growling organ sound, it leans heavily into a Black music vibe—but this side of Fujifabric is cool, too.
It’s been included three times—on their self-produced cassette, their indie release, and their pre-major-debut record—making it one of the standout tracks from the band’s early period.
