Days of No ReturnHisaishi Joe

The Days of No Return (Live at Budokan) – Joe Hisaishi (HD)
Days of No ReturnHisaishi Joe

This is an insert song from Porco Rosso performed by Joe Hisaishi.

It has a mature atmosphere, and when I was little I couldn’t appreciate its charm.

Watching Porco Rosso makes me feel somewhat lonely and reminds me of my distant hometown—there’s a mysterious effect like that, I think.

Promise of the WorldBaishō Chieko

The Promise of the World / Chieko Baisho (Piano Solo with Vocals) – Sing with the Piano / Covered by Nontan
Promise of the WorldBaishō Chieko

It’s a famous song from Howl’s Moving Castle.

The film also became well-known for casting Takuya Kimura as the voice of Howl.

The interactions between the troubled Howl and the pure-hearted protagonist, the beautiful scenery, and the gorgeous music linger in the heart, making it an unforgettable piece of music.

Ponyo on the CliffŌhashi Nozomi

It’s the iconic theme song from Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea.

It also became famous because Nozomi Ohashi, who voiced Ponyo, sang the theme song.

The voice is cute, the animated characters are adorable, and the heartwarming story made it an instant hit.

I saw it in the theater too.

Mother of the SeaHayashi Masako

Hayashi Masako – Mother of the sea

This is an insert song from Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea.

It’s a track that doesn’t feel very Ghibli-like.

The contrast with Nozomi Ohashi’s vocals on the main theme makes it particularly striking.

It’s a song that makes you want to watch Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea again—a cute, heartwarming story that helps restore a sense of humanity.

Princess MononokeMera Yoshikazu

The theme song of Princess Mononoke is one of Studio Ghibli’s signature pieces.

Princess Mononoke is a work that confronts not only beautiful scenery but also the darkness within humanity.

It was created at a time when deforestation and environmental destruction by humans were major concerns, and the scenes featuring the guardian of the forest are particularly memorable.

Ashitaka SeikImononoke hime sōnyūka

The Legend of Ashitaka (Symphonic Suite “Princess Mononoke” / Live)
Ashitaka SeikImononoke hime sōnyūka

It’s an insert song from Princess Mononoke.

I think everyone has heard it at least once.

With its grand melodic line, it captures the hearts of listeners.

In my school wind ensemble, which I was part of, we performed Princess Mononoke at our annual concert every year.

It’s a song full of memories for me.

Carrying YouInoue Azumi

It’s the representative theme song of Castle in the Sky, where the music, the scenery—everything—is beautiful.

It’s a piece that has been sung in choral competitions for over ten years by everyone from elementary school students to adults.

The music of “Carrying You” resonates so deeply that the scenes of Castle in the Sky come to mind.
