VELVET PΛW was a Japanese all-female progressive rock band active from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s.
Their sound was influenced by AOR bands such as TOTO and JOURNEY, and they were a distinctive girls’ band known for their unique musicality that incorporated elements of progressive rock and hard rock from both Japan and abroad.
With high-level musicianship and progressive song structures, they stood apart from other all-female bands.
Although they went on hiatus in 1995, their technical prowess and musicality continue to be recognized today.
Spiral Danceindo neko

Formed in Tokyo in the late 1980s, Indoneko was a new wave band with a distinctive worldview.

After appearing on the popular TV program “Ika-ten” in 1989, they made their major-label debut.

In 1981 they self-released the album “Otome no Inori wa Daddadda!” which achieved an astonishing 2,000 copies sold.
In 1985 they unveiled the classic “Manten ni Akai Hanabira,” staying true to a DIY ethic.
They performed energetically and consistently voiced social messages, including anti-nuclear activism and women’s festivals.

JulianPRINCESS PRINCESS

Formed in 1983, PRINCESS PRINCESS—a five-member all-female band selected from over 1,400 applicants—brought a fresh breeze to the J-pop scene.
Known for their powerful performances and catchy melodies, they made their re-debut in 1986 under the prestigious CBS/Sony label.
In 1989, they became the first all-female band to successfully perform at the Nippon Budokan, and their hit song released that same year won the 22nd Japan Cable Radio Awards.
They also achieved a stadium concert at Seibu Stadium.

This is DATE ME GANE, a female-vocal melodic punk band.
They’ve been active out of Osaka since 2015 and joined the newly established label BOF RECORDS on August 8, 2019.
Their thick, hard-hitting guitars and driving two-beat rhythms are awesome! The melody structures hit all the right notes for melocore fans and will appeal to listeners of any gender.
Vocalist Sae’s tone has real core and is incredibly compelling.
