One of the quintessential sights of summer is fireworks, right? Maybe many of you are thinking about going to see them.

With that in mind, let me introduce “Ohhh!!! HANABI.” It’s a pop tune by PornoGraffitti that captures the butterflies of a man going out to watch fireworks with a woman.

Listening to it is sure to boost your excitement for a day out.

It also includes scenes of a festival, so you might enjoy focusing on those as well.

In any case, it’s brimming with seasonal vibes.

Pornograffitti is a rock band that has produced many hits marked by powerful sounds, such as “Music Hour,” “Saudade,” and “Melissa.” Written as the support song for the international conference “G7 Hiroshima Summit 2023,” “Avi ga Naku” is a track with a gentle melody and tone that differs from their usual hits.

By the way, the members are from the former Innoshima City in Hiroshima Prefecture, which is why they were chosen for this project as artists from Hiroshima.

This piece evokes the vast nature of Innoshima—why not close your eyes and listen closely?

Speaking of Porno Graffitti, their 2000s hits like “Apollo” and “Saudade” are famous, but I really want you to listen to their more recent work as well.

A prime example is THE DAY.

It’s a powerful track that, to me, truly represents Porno Graffitti’s evolution.

It’s a single by Porno Graffitti released in November 2004, used as the theme song for the TV drama “Who Is the Most Important Person?” It reached No.

3 on the Oricon weekly chart and was also performed at that year’s NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen.

Weather ArtisanPorno Graffitti

A song by Porno Graffitti, a two-piece rock band from Hiroshima Prefecture.

It’s included as the B-side to their 15th single, “Sister.” The crisp, buoyant intro and the band’s signature complex yet catchy melodies feel so pleasant, don’t they? The lyrics link shifting inner emotions with the ever-changing sky, which many listeners will likely find relatable.

It’s a track that stays close to hearts troubled by emotional ups and downs and makes you want to look up at the sky.

The Promised MorningPorno Graffitti

This is the song used in the “Knorr Cup Soup” commercial.

It charmingly captures the closeness of two people greeting the morning together.

It was included on the best album Joker.

The album title doesn’t really connect with the image of this song, but the singer’s usual convincing delivery makes it somehow intriguing.

EXITPorunogurafiti

EXITPorunogurafiti

Released as a single in 2011, PornoGraffitti’s 32nd single “EXIT” is a song set in the subway that portrays the aching heart of a man who wanted to become strong enough to answer her feelings—but couldn’t.

Rather than depicting the actual moment of parting, it expresses the inner turmoil within the man’s heart.

Along with the lyrics, the poignancy of the melody also evokes a profound sadness, making it a masterpiece.
