Patchwork scrap accessory pouch

If you sew, you probably have lots of fabric scraps piling up at home.
In that case, why not make this little storage tray? It has folded gussets, so when you’re not using it as a small organizer, you can fold it flat for storage.
All you need are two fabric scraps measuring 16 cm by 20 cm.
If you want it to be a bit sturdier, apply fusible interfacing.
Sew the two scraps right sides together, fold the fabric to form the gussets, and sew both ends.
Turn it right side out through the opening, topstitch along the upper edge, and you’re done.
Beaded accessories

When people hear “beaded accessories,” they often think of children’s toys, but with the right materials and design, you can create pieces perfect for adults! The basic method is simply threading beads onto fishing line (nylon thread), so feel free to make your favorite design.
Here, we introduce how to make a gold-themed floral bracelet.
Keeping the colors subdued and using tiny beads to add delicacy may be the key to giving beaded accessories a sophisticated, grown-up look.
Felt bookmark

If you enjoy reading, why not try making a felt bookmark? All you need to do is cut the felt according to a template to make the parts and then attach them with glue, so it’s an idea even those who aren’t confident with sewing can try.
First, think about what motif you’d like to use.
Book, mug, or leaf shapes are all cute.
The ribbon serves as the bookmark, and you’ll attach motifs to both ends, so please prepare two felt motifs.
You can also buy felt at 100-yen shops.
Solitaire-style beaded ring

Like a big gemstone! Here are ideas for making beaded rings with Swarovski beads.
You’ll need one main Swarovski bead and about 70 tiny seed beads.
First, create a base around the Swarovski bead, then make the ring band.
The delicate look is very feminine and has a design even adults will want to wear.
There are some fine steps like crossing the fishing line through the beads, but the method is simple—try making it with your favorite Swarovski bead.
pocket watch-style accessory

You can easily handcraft stylish pocket watch–style accessories with resin! All you need are a pocket watch frame and a clock-face mold (both available at 100-yen shops), resin, pigment, and decorations to place inside.
Pour clear resin into the mold, cure it, remove it, and use paint to color the grooves.
Laminate a patterned sheet that will show through from the back of the pocket watch, attach it to the frame, add your decorations, and seal it with the clock-face piece.
Once you coat the whole thing, your pocket watch–style component is complete.
You can thread a chain to make a necklace, add findings to turn it into a keychain—there are lots of ways to use it.
Macramé hoop earrings

Would you like to try making chic-looking macramé hoop earrings? First, shape a thick wire into a circle.
It’s hard to do by hand, so use tools.
Once the shape is set, use the wire as a base and start knotting macramé yarn.
When the wire is fully covered, attach earring findings to finish.
A single hoop is stylish, but a double hoop looks wonderful too.
In that case, how about making the macramé yarn bi-colored? Once you learn the knotting technique, you can adapt this idea to create earrings in various shapes.

Puru-Koro Soap

It’s like a jewel! Let me show you how to make cute, jiggly soap.
You’ll need liquid hand soap, gelatin, hot water, and food coloring.
Dissolve the gelatin in hot water, then mix in the liquid hand soap.
The trick is to stir slowly so it doesn’t foam.
Add food coloring, pour into a flat container, and chill in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours.
Then just cut it into your favorite shapes and you’re done! It looks adorable and might make handwashing more fun.
Just be careful to prevent small children from accidentally swallowing it.
