A quiz that’s scary once you know the answer

Let’s try some quizzes that become creepier the more you understand them! We’ll introduce quizzes that get scary once you figure out the answer.
They’re humorous quizzes recommended for hot days or for people who enjoy scary stories.
They’re based on “stories that are scary once you understand them,” and the fun part is answering what exactly makes each story scary.
The videos themselves don’t have any horror elements and have a bright tone, so give at least one question a try.
It’s also great to tackle them with family, a partner, or friends.
Amazing if you can read it! Three readings for a single kanji

Although it may seem like there are many kanji we see in everyday life, the ones we actually encounter are somewhat limited, and there are in fact kanji that we rarely have the chance to see.
This is a quiz that focuses on those less commonly seen kanji and asks you to think about how they are read.
Each kanji’s reading is limited to three kana characters, so try to expand your imagination based on the components and overall impression of the character.
Sometimes you can’t tell just by looking at the kanji, so it’s also recommended to reveal the initial letter of the reading or have participants infer the reading from the meaning.

Exercise your brain with tricky riddles! Can you solve all the cipher quizzes within the time limit? Try it in 30 seconds!

In recent years, there’s been a rise in quiz shows on TV, and with the unprecedented puzzle-solving boom, more and more people are tackling quizzes in their daily lives.
Riddle-like brain teasers that you can’t solve at a glance require approaching the answer from multiple angles, making them great for brain training.
It can also be fun to test kinds of creativity you don’t often use in everyday life—like visualizing kanji or converting things into English.
These are mental exercises I especially recommend to adults, who tend to have stronger preconceptions.
Riddles for advanced users (if you can solve them)

Let’s develop concentration and thinking skills! Here are some ideas for riddles that are challenging even for advanced solvers.
To solve riddles, you need to think carefully and take your time, right? At first glance, the time spent thinking may seem like you’re just playing with riddles, but it’s actually a wonderful opportunity to cultivate various abilities.
This time, let’s try some advanced-level riddles.
For example, you might encounter a question like, “Which country is particular about curry roux?”
What part of speech is “strawberry”?
If you’re asked what language “strawberry” is, you’d naturally say English.
But this is a trick question! The answer isn’t English.
So what is it? To solve it, you need to realize it’s a trick and notice that the “go” in “nani go” (“what language”) is written in hiragana, not the kanji for “language.” And what does “strawberry” actually refer to in the first place? Once you see that, you’ll reach the answer! It’s a question that tends to be swayed by your knowledge, but a child might answer it in an instant.
What is something you use but cannot own?
Scissors, pencils, erasers, rulers… most tools you’re familiar with are basically things you hold in your hand to use, right? So let’s try a riddle: “What can be used but cannot be held?” You might think of various tools, but you won’t easily get the right answer if you only think in terms of “objects.” First, try considering things you can use that aren’t objects.
By the way, the answer is “your name.” You use it when introducing yourself or when you want friends to know about you, but you certainly can’t “hold” it.
Riddles for adults! Can you solve them all? 10 questions in total.

Many people probably loved riddles when they were kids.
For those who realize they’ve stopped solving riddles as adults, we recommend these riddles for grown-ups.
Since they’re designed for adults, they’re more challenging than regular riddles and engage your brain more, making them great for mental training.
The 30-second thinking time also seems helpful for brain workouts.
By constantly tackling riddles, you’ll keep your mind flexible—and that could have a positive impact on your work, too.
