MIND YOUR STEP!SNAIL RAMP

SNAIL RAMP is a three-piece rock band known as a pioneering act in the genre called ska-core, which incorporates ska elements into melodic hardcore.
Their second single, “MIND YOUR STEP!,” used as the ending theme for the variety show Platinum London Boots, sticks in your head with its catchy melody over a brisk beat.
The offbeat backing on clean tone and the distorted guitar riffs may confuse beginner guitarists more in terms of feel and switching effects than in pure technical difficulty.
On the other hand, once you’ve mastered it, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleasing upper tune live.
summer festivalWhiteberry

This is a recommended song for female band members.
There are versions with one guitar and with two guitars—be sure to try both.
It’s perfect for practicing chord changes.
There’s also a guitar solo, but it’s not particularly difficult, and the phrases are cool, so why not give it a try?
Outdated Rock ’n’ Roll BandKuwata Keisuke feat. Sano Motoharu, Sera Masanori, Char, Noguchi Goro

A unit of top-tier musicians—Keisuke Kuwata feat.
Motoharu Sano, Masayuki Sera, Char, and Goro Noguchi—assembled under the concept of “Can we collaborate as classmates to put out a message for our times?” This track was released as a charity digital single, and its message praying for world peace truly moves the heart.
While the main focus is on strumming with simple chords, it’s challenging to capture the vibe—like the loose guitar riffs heard in the intro, solo, and fills—so be sure to listen closely to the recording and practice.
There’s nothing technically difficult, so try to play with emotion, keeping the meaning of the lyrics in mind.

SPELL MAGICAcid Black Cherry
“SPELL MAGIC” is an ideal song for building stamina in your right arm.
While the same phrase repeats, it uses plenty of essential guitar techniques like palm muting, making it perfect for practice.
Both the lead and backing parts include challenging sections that add to the fun and sense of accomplishment.
The guitar solo, in particular, is brimming with passion, and tackling it over summer break will spur players’ growth.
By trying a wide range of songs—from Western to Japanese music, acoustic to electric, and from beginner to intermediate levels—you can expect your guitar skills to improve naturally.
Take this opportunity to practice to your heart’s content while enjoying “SPELL MAGIC.”
Those who fight the monster called realityTakahashi Yuu

Rather than for guitar beginners, this song is perfect for those new to singing and playing.
Of course, I also recommend trying the lead guitar phrases! There’s a chord change to F, which is considered a hurdle for guitar novices, so I think it makes for great practice.
For the record, this was the first song I did as a sing-and-play performance.
American IdiotGreen Day

A track by Green Day that achieved the historic feat of becoming the first punk band to win the Grammy’s top honor, Record of the Year.
It’s the title track and single from their seventh album, American Idiot, delivering a refreshing blend of modern yet classic punk sounds.
The guitar part is simple, with bold strumming, but because the backing requires quick position shifts, you need to play in a way that prevents each note from cutting off, or you’ll lose the sense of speed.
Precisely because it’s simple, don’t get complacent—this rock tune lets the guitar take center stage.
PowerHelloween

Helloween is a seven-member metal band with an image as a flagship of German metal and known as a pioneer of melodic speed metal.
The song “Power,” included on their 7th album The Time of the Oath, was also released as their 13th single and became a hit in Japan, reaching No.
40 on the Oricon chart.
Its wistful guitar solo features Helloween’s signature fast-picking phrases, but because it’s a simple ascending lick using hammer-ons, it’s relatively easy to play.
It’s a great metal number to recommend as an entry point for intermediate guitarists who want to play metal but feel it might be too difficult.
