Magic tricks using a handkerchief: Party-pleasing tricks for entertainment and performances (11–20)
A handkerchief appears from a banknote

This is a magic trick using a banknote and a handkerchief.
You roll up the bill, say a magic spell, and a handkerchief slithers out from inside.
Then, when you put the handkerchief back into the bill, this time when you unfold the banknote, the handkerchief has vanished.
It’s a simple trick, but because it uses something familiar like money, it’s guaranteed to make the audience lean in with curiosity, wondering how it works.
Practice saying the initial magic spell with plenty of flair, and you can go for laughs, too!
Color-changing handkerchief

This is a fascinating magic trick with a color-changing handkerchief.
It’s recommended because you don’t need to carry any large gimmicks—just keep the special handkerchief in your pocket and you’re ready to perform.
If you present it by pulling out the next color through the hole in a solid-colored handkerchief, it will mysteriously appear to change color.
Because the method is simple, you’ll also need to polish your patter.
It’s a good idea to check in a mirror during practice or record yourself on video to see whether the magic flows naturally.
A handkerchief that teleports

A teleportation magic trick where a handkerchief that should have been there vanishes in an instant and reappears connected to another handkerchief.
What you need: four and two handkerchiefs in two colors, and a small opaque bag.
Prepare a set of three handkerchiefs sewn together in advance and place them in the bag.
Also put the remaining loose handkerchiefs and a fake hollow thumb into the bag, and when you start the trick, take out only the loose handkerchiefs.
Then, as you return the handkerchiefs to the bag, place all of them into the fake thumb inside the bag and slip that thumb onto your hand.
That way, the only thing left in the bag will be the three handkerchiefs tied together.
As long as you prepare and follow the steps correctly, even kids can do it easily!
Transformation Handkerchief

It’s a magic trick where, when you squeeze four handkerchiefs in your hand, each originally a single solid color, they transform into one handkerchief that combines all four colors.
Since the handkerchiefs you put inside also seem to vanish, it really looks like they’ve transformed.
The key gimmick is a thumb tip worn on your thumb.
You preload the four colored handkerchiefs inside it and show the audience the four separate handkerchiefs.
When you place them into your palm, you secretly remove the thumb tip, tuck each handkerchief inside, and then pull out the combined four-color handkerchief through a hole prepared on the opposite side.
Be mindful of your angles and concealment so the thumb tip isn’t detected.
A handkerchief pierced through the smartphone!

Let’s amaze everyone by making a handkerchief pass through a guest’s smartphone.
First, cut a piece of plastic sheet (like those from a 100-yen shop) into a rectangle with a slit big enough for the handkerchief to go through.
Thread the handkerchief through the slit and keep it hidden beforehand.
Start by borrowing the guest’s smartphone and taking out the handkerchief, making sure the plastic sheet stays concealed from the guest.
Then attach the plastic sheet to the phone and pull the handkerchief through.
You’ll need to be clever about how you hold everything so the plastic sheet stays invisible, so practice thoroughly!
A pen comes out of a handkerchief.

This is a very popular magic trick where objects appear from a handkerchief.
It’s a trick that produces items hidden in your sleeve, and the fun part is that you can bring out anything that fits in there.
It seems perfect for a wide range of situations, from a quick gag to a surprising stunt that amazes everyone around you.

A tissue pierces through the handkerchief.

The tissue that was supposed to be curled up in the cup pierces right through the handkerchief! The key to this magic trick is using magnets cleverly.
Prepare a tissue in advance by rolling it up with a magnet hidden inside.
Next, roll up the tissue you’re going to put into the cup, and at the moment you roll it, quietly slip the magnet inside.
Then drape a handkerchief over the cup that contains the magnetized tissue, and when you push the handkerchief into the cup, gently place another magnetized tissue on top of the handkerchief.
The tissue inside the cup and the one on top of the handkerchief will stick together, making it look as if the handkerchief has been pierced!
