New Year’s cards made with 100-yen shop stickers and stamps

It’s that time of year when New Year’s card items line the shelves at 100-yen shops! Here’s how to easily make New Year’s cards using only items from the 100-yen store.
All you do is stick on or stamp things like masking tape, stickers, seals, and stamps onto a postcard.
Just putting masking tape around the edge of the postcard makes it look really cute.
You can use this for both vertical and horizontal layouts, so try different ideas.
It’s also fun to make each one a little different, so I highly recommend it.
New Year’s cards with eraser stamps

If you want to create New Year’s card stamps in any design you like, try making your own eraser stamps! Draw your preferred design on an eraser, then carve away the unnecessary parts with a craft knife.
The key when carving is to move the eraser base, not the knife.
This gives you more stability and speeds up your work.
Hold the knife at a 45-degree angle, not vertically.
If you carve too deep straight down, you’ll lose the base of the stamp, so be careful.
Start with a simple design at first!
Design with the app “Canva”

Create designs easily for free! Here’s how to make New Year’s cards using the Canva app.
First, search for New Year’s card templates.
Designs with a crown icon are paid.
After choosing a design you like, select and edit the parts you want to change, such as names and greeting text.
You can also adjust line spacing, colors, and illustrations.
If you choose a gradient, you can fine-tune the colors.
Once your design is ready, download it to the shared folder, then go to your downloads folder, select your printer settings, and print to finish.
New Year’s cards made with stencils

Easy to make! Here’s how to create handmade stencil New Year’s cards.
You’ll need postcards, a clear plastic file folder, a craft punch, a stencil sponge, and an ink pad.
First, use the craft punch to cut shapes out of the clear file and make a stencil sheet.
Place the sheet over the postcard, dab ink from the pad onto the sponge, and stamp over the top—done! You can also cut the clear file into any shape you like to make your own original stencil sheets.
Since you can create all kinds of stencils, it’s perfect for your New Year’s cards every year and highly recommended.
Simple & Cute! How to Draw New Year’s Illustrations

Here’s a recommended way to draw New Year’s illustrations for those who think, “I want to add a hand-drawn illustration to my New Year’s card, but drawing seems hard.” The materials are: the paper you want to draw on, an oil-based pen, watercolor pencils, and a water brush.
First, use the oil-based pen to draw your illustration on the paper.
We introduce 15 different New Year’s-themed illustrations.
They’re all easy to copy while looking at them, so draw at your own pace.
If you’re nervous about drawing directly with a pen, we recommend making a pencil sketch first.
Once you’re done drawing, add color with watercolor pencils and blend with a water brush to finish! These are great not only for New Year’s cards but also for small illustrations on greeting cards and more.
New Year’s card with pastel art

Even first-timers can easily draw pastel art! Here’s how to make New Year’s cards.
You’ll need a template, four pastel colors, cotton swabs, an eraser, and a pen.
First, apply the first pastel color across the paper in small circular motions.
A light color is recommended for the first layer.
Apply the second and third colors horizontally.
Add the fourth color horizontally as well to blend the overall tones.
Next, place your chosen template on top and erase the cut-out areas with an eraser.
Finish by drawing the facial features with a cotton swab or pen.
Put this to use for your New Year’s cards every year!
