[Resin] Ema (votive plaque) made in your oshi color
https://www.tiktok.com/@otsuko025_02pop/video/7325357335755443457Here are some ideas for making ema (votive plaques) with resin.
Basically, you just pour resin into a mold, add parts, and cure it, but the look will change depending on the color of the resin and the types of decorative pieces you include.
In this idea, in addition to pearls, cherry blossom parts are used, and the words “Prayers for Success” are included.
It’s an idea that works well as a gift too, so give it a try.
You can get the basic resin tools even at 100-yen shops.
Ema made from cardboard for childcare/early childhood settings

Here’s a perfect idea for making ema plaques in childcare activities.
Cut cardboard and white paper into the shape of an ema.
Cut the white paper about two sizes smaller than the cardboard.
Glue gold origami paper onto the cardboard, then attach the ema-shaped white paper on top.
To make it hangable, add a ribbon to the back of the ema, and you’re done! Since cardboard is thick, if children are cutting it with scissors, make sure an adult supervises to prevent injuries.
Have the children write what they want to work hard on or their wishes on the white part!
[Origami] Pochi-bukuro Ema

Here’s an idea for making an ema-shaped piece that doubles as a small gift envelope (pochibukuro).
First, let’s make the ema with origami.
Fold the left and right sides of the origami inward by about 2 cm, then fold it in half by bringing the top and bottom edges together and open it back up.
Next, fold up the bottom edge by about 3 cm to make a crease, then flip the paper top to bottom and fold the bottom edge up again along the crease you just made.
It should now look like an envelope.
For the flap that will be the ema top, fold the left and right corners diagonally to create the ema shape, and glue the necessary spots to finish it.
You can punch a hole and thread a string through it, and it’s also cute to make this year’s zodiac animal and stick it on.
[Origami] Unicorn Ema (votive plaque)

If you want to make a cute ema plaque, why not try making a unicorn ema? This idea uses origami: you make the unicorn part and the ema plaque part from separate sheets and then glue them together at the end.
The unicorn has many steps, but none of them are difficult, so give it a try.
The ema plaque involves simple steps that even children can do.
Make the unicorn with white origami paper and finish it by drawing the face and patterns with a pen.
Decorating it with gem stickers could be cute, too!
[Origami] Mt. Fuji ema (votive plaque)

Here’s an idea for an ema (votive plaque) featuring Mount Fuji that’s sure to bring a good first dream of the year.
Basically, you’ll make all the parts by folding origami.
The parts are: the ema plaque, a decorative Mount Fuji, the sun, and pine.
Use standard-size origami paper for the plaque and Mount Fuji, and 1/16-size paper for the sun and pine.
None of the steps are very difficult, so give it a try.
The boundary between the mountain and the snow on Mount Fuji comes out crisp and beautiful.
Once all the parts are ready, attach them to the ema in the image of the first sunrise of the year.
[Origami] How to fold an ema (votive plaque)
![[Origami] How to fold an ema (votive plaque)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/BZAliJ7Mqkk/sddefault.jpg)
Let’s make an ema (a wooden prayer plaque) out of a single sheet of origami.
This is a cute idea where the top part of the ema looks like a roof.
We’ll fold it so that only the roof section shows the colored side.
First, fold the paper into a triangle twice to make creases, then open it and place it so the creases form a cross.
Fold the bottom corner up to the center and unfold; use that crease to start forming the roof.
The key is to make the roof edges look like they’re sticking out.
That step has some fine details, but the folding itself is simple.
Give it a try!

An ema charm made with puffy stickers that feel as luxurious as store-bought ones has a nice three-dimensional look and is perfect for the New Year.
Pour colored resin into a mold and cure it into the shape of an ema.
For the Mount Fuji background, we recommend pouring fresh, light colors to create a gradient.
Using tweezers, arrange and stick the puffy stickers while balancing the composition, then coat the entire piece, attach a swivel clasp, and finish it as a keychain.
Mixing in glitter or washi paper will give it a more original feel.
Give it a try!
