Maracas made from plastic bottle caps

Let me introduce cap maracas made by connecting plastic bottle caps.

Put beads into the caps, screw on the lids, and wrap the outside with vinyl tape to secure them so the beads don’t spill out.

Make as many identical ones as you like.

When attaching hook-and-loop fasteners to the lid parts, be sure they line up so they stick to each other.

Once they’re finished, try sticking them together and pulling them apart to play.

All the materials can be found at a 100-yen shop, so they’re easy to make.

Plastic bottle caps transform into maracas with a gentle, pleasant sound!

Here’s how to make a homemade maraca.

Cut the plastic bottle slightly below the mouth with a utility knife, make a slit, and insert a tightly rolled toilet paper tube into the bottle’s mouth.

Wrap tape around and secure the bottle and the tube firmly with tape.

The tube will be the handle, and the bottle will be the base for the capsule toy.

Cover the hole in the capsule toy with tape, and put buttons, beads, or similar items inside.

Close the lid, place the capsule on top of the bottle, and tape it on securely.

The key is to wrap the tape tightly.

Finally, decorate it with stickers and you’re done! Try shaking your maraca along with a song and have fun.

When you think of maracas, you probably imagine a round shape, but here’s an idea for square maracas.

Prepare two small square transparent containers, vinyl (duct) tape, two straws, a stapler, scissors, and a pen.

Cut the straws into small pieces about 2 cm long and put them inside one container.

Place the other container on top as a lid, and staple them together so the straw pieces don’t fly out.

Cover the staples with vinyl tape to prevent injury, then draw faces or patterns with the pen to finish.

Adjust the amount of straw while checking the sound.

Even tiny babies will be delighted! Here’s an introduction to making sparkly maracas using capsule toys.

Thread a zip tie through the hole in the capsule toy case to secure a rubber band.

To prevent injuries, make sure to fasten it inside the capsule.

After adding beads, bells, or other items, close the lid tightly and tape around the outside.

Once it’s finished, try shaking the maracas to music like “The Toy March.” It looks like your baby will happily join in and play with a smile!

Let’s make Daruma maracas using empty capsules and a toilet paper roll.

Decorate the toilet paper roll with vinyl tape.

Put beads into a capsule, draw a picture of a Daruma on construction paper, and stick it onto the capsule.

Close the lid tightly and attach the capsule to the toilet paper roll.

Fix another bead-filled capsule to the other end, and you’re done! What kind of sound will your Daruma maracas make? Have fun trying them out! You might also enjoy making two and playing with one in each hand!
