Next, mark the toilet paper roll, trace the shape of your thumb, and cut it out.

Finally, attach the straw to the inside of the toilet paper roll, and you’re done! If you color the roll or add patterns, it will look even nicer.

You’ll need one straw, a piece of cardboard or thick paper cut to about 12 cm × 2 cm, tape, and scissors.

First, make 5–6 one-centimeter cuts in the straw.

Next, open up the cuts in the straw and tape it to the center of the paper.

Finally, twist the paper to create an angle, and you’re done! The great thing about this idea is that you can adjust the length as many times as you like.

Here’s an idea for making a bamboo-copter (taketombo) from real bamboo.

You’ll need bamboo and a small knife.

First, cut the bamboo into 12 cm and 15 cm pieces, then trim their widths to 13 mm and 7 mm.

Next, use the small knife to carve the blade section.

Be careful not to use a utility knife, as the blade can snap! Finally, shape the shaft, drill a hole, assemble the parts, and you’re done.

After assembly, keep fine-tuning by shaving to adjust the balance.

If you staple the tips of both wings, it increases the rotational force, so you can have fun with that variation too!
