Leaf Pinwheel

Let’s make toys using nature! Here’s an idea for a leaf pinwheel.
You’ll need four leaves, a wooden bead, a straw, and a bamboo skewer.
Pinwheels are often made with paper, but this idea is charming because it uses natural materials for the propeller.
Once you find four favorite leaves, try making the pinwheel! After threading a wooden bead onto the bamboo skewer, pierce four leaves that have been folded in half.
Then thread another wooden bead on top and insert the skewer into the straw.
Sunflower pinwheel
@utatan_simple_crafts I tried making a sunflower-shaped pinwheel using paper cups 🌻 You can paint a white paper cup, or if you want a quick, crisp finish, use a colored paper cup ♪ My 4-year-old daughter looked at a sunflower picture book, cut the paper cup into petal shapes, and colored it with a water-based marker 🖋 There are various ways to attach the stick and pinwheel, but this time I made it so it won’t pop off easily and is less likely to cause injury even if it breaks 👆 It looks adorable when you hold it, too—a cute little pinwheel 🌻 Give it a try 😊 ⚠︎ When making holes or cutting toothpicks with scissors, be very careful to avoid injury. If you’re crafting with small children, please have an adult handle these steps. ★ Materials ★ ✳︎ Paper cups (2 of the same size) ✳︎ 1 toothpick ✳︎ 3 beads (with holes that the toothpick can pass through) ✳︎ Green construction paper (1 sheet) ✳︎ Brown origami paper (about 75 cm square) ★ Tools ★ ✳︎ Scissors ✳︎ Wood glue ✳︎ Clear tape ✳︎ Glue stick ✳︎ A tool for making holes (push pin, awl, etc.) ✳︎ Coloring supplies if you want to add color ⚠️️ Because this is an original project, we kindly prohibit the following: ▪︎ Unauthorized reproduction of images/videos ▪︎ Reproduction and use for commercial purposes ▪︎ Unauthorized use in fee-based craft/art classes or workshops If you post a reference project, please mention @utatan_simple_crafts ✨ We’d love to see your makes, too! ****************************************** Original craft recipes for parents and kids to enjoy Utatan’s Simple Crafts ⇨ @utatan_simple_crafts Thank you 🐰✨ ******************************************work#I love crafts#HandmadeToysLife with children#Childcare CraftingsunflowerSunflower#SunflowerCraftwindmill#Summer CraftProduction in JulyProduction in AugustChildcare#StayHomePlay Project#AtHomePlaypaper cupPaper cup craftScrap Material CraftingSimple craftParentingEducational#kidscrafts#papercup#papercupctaftSummer Craft

Cute looks, too! Let me share a sunflower pinwheel idea.
You’ll need a paper cup and scissors.
Make 12 evenly spaced cuts into the cup, then spread the blades out like a propeller.
The key is to tilt the base of each blade about 30 degrees—and be sure to angle them all in the same direction.
You can also add leaves made from construction paper to the handle if you like.
Try making this sunflower that spins in the wind—its cheerful, cute look is sure to brighten your day!
vortex wind turbine

Let’s make one using price tags! It spins round and round and is so much fun! Here’s an idea for a spiral pinwheel.
You’ll need construction paper, chopsticks, a straw, scissors, tape, price tags, crayons, and bird-scarer tape.
Draw a spiral on the construction paper, add colors and patterns, then cut along the spiral with scissors.
Combine a short piece of straw, a chopstick, and a price tag, and your spiral pinwheel is complete! You can also decorate it by adding shiny bird-scarer tape to the spiral pinwheel.
Pinwheel hat made from a milk carton

A windmill attached to a hat! Here’s an idea for a windmill hat made from a milk carton.
You’ll need a milk carton, scissors, a bamboo skewer, duct tape, and a straw.
Wear the hat made from the milk carton and run—the windmill’s propeller will spin.
It’s a unique idea, perfect for kids who love running and being active.
It’s also fun to customize the design by drawing illustrations of cats, dogs, or monkeys.
Give it a try and have fun making and playing with it!
Pinwheel piggy bank

Introducing a pinwheel piggy bank where the pinwheel inside spins when you insert a coin.
Prepare two milk cartons, a lid from a 6-piece cheese pack, a utility knife, a bamboo skewer, and a straw.
For the piggy bank base, make holes for the coin slot, a door, and the hole for the pinwheel’s bamboo skewer in one milk carton.
Next, for the blades, cut off the bottom third of the second milk carton with the utility knife to create the lower section.
Then cut off about the top third of the remaining carton, score folds on the four sides to make it easier to bend, and fold it.
Thread a bamboo skewer through and staple to secure—this completes the inner blades.
Insert the bamboo skewer through the base and fix the blades in place.
Cut the 6-piece cheese lid into a pinwheel shape, attach it to a straw, and secure it.
Your pinwheel piggy bank is complete!
In conclusion
This time, we introduced handmade pinwheels.
From the classic round ones that spin to pinwheels with fun shapes, there were lots of ideas.
Many of them are easy to make, so be sure to try making them and have fun playing with them!
