KAKASHI – The Truth – [Music Video]
The truthKAKASHI

KAKASHI is a four-piece band formed by members from Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture.

While the members are from Gunma, the band was formed at a vocational school in Tokyo that all four attended.

They released their first mini-album, “Dramatic,” in 2013, and have since performed at festivals in Gunma and embarked on nationwide tours.

In 2015, they held a self-organized live show in Tokyo together with Ivy to Fraudulent Game, another band from Gunma, and the tickets sold out.

The band’s appeal lies in vocalist-guitarist Sota Horikoshi’s distinctive, lingering voice, lyrics that put into words feelings anyone might experience in everyday life, and melodies that wrap it all in a refreshing sound.

Stardust HomecomingKAN

The artist name “KAN” is actually a variation of his real given name, 和, which is read “Kan.” That kanji was chosen by KAN’s father, but KAN never had the chance to ask him about its true meaning before he passed away.

When you think of KAN, you probably think of “Ai wa Katsu” (“Love Will Win”), but this song, “Hoshikuzu no Kaerimichi” (“The Starlit Way Home”), is a life-affirming anthem that rivals it.

His gentle voice, telling you to “keep your head up and smile,” feels as if KAN were right there in front of you.

It’s a highly recommended track to listen to whenever you’re feeling down.

There, thereKANA-BOON

KANA-BOON is a band that has continued to stay popular for many years with their upbeat melodies and lyrics.

While they’re considered a mid-career act among Japanese rock bands, they’re still active on the front lines, so even high school students have probably heard their songs.

Among KANA-BOON’s tracks, the one I especially recommend is “Horarara.” It’s a somewhat uptempo song, but the pitch movement is simple, making it easy to stay in tune.

Be sure to add it to your repertoire.

Wandering Days and FanfareKANA-BOON

A track from a 2018 release with a rhythmic, playful melody that’s captivating.

The band arrangement and choral work are performed in a way that highlights that melody, making it feel great and letting the lyrics sink in naturally.

It’s the kind of song that feels like it’s sounding a fanfare against everyday boredom—one that makes you want to dash out of your room and start dancing right now.

White X’masKAT-TUN

I tried singing KAT-TUN’s “White X’mas.”
White X'masKAT-TUN

A love ballad by KAT-TUN that sinks into the heart like quietly falling snow.

It delicately captures the ache of recalling a lost love on Christmas night and the hope of a new encounter.

Released in December 2008, this song is also included on the album “Break the Records -by you & for you-,” and has become a beloved classic among fans.

Its gentle, ephemeral melody and lyrics resonate with the beauty of a winter night sky.

Listen to it on a quiet winter night, and it will move you even more deeply.

It’s perfect for when you want to look back on memories with someone special or take a step toward a new romance.

Flame (En) ~kougu memory~KOUGU ishin

Chocolate Planet’s TT Brothers and Jungle Pocket’s “Exercises That Are Effective Nowhere” both originated from the variety show Ariyoshi no Kabe.

Amid the flood of new gags and unit teams born from the show, the one that really stands out is KOUGU Ishin.

Their 2.5D musical-style performances that personify tools have a bright, addictive quality that makes you want to see more.

In the song “Homura (En) ~kougu memory~,” tools like screwdrivers and drills appear in the lyrics, which unfold with an undercurrent of battling an evil organization.

It’s packed with playful parodies that evoke the Takarazuka Revue and contemporary 2.5D musicals.

It’s a track everyone will want to listen to together while tossing in plenty of witty asides.
