Leo Ieiri's famous and popular songs

In 2012, we were introduced to singer-songwriter Leo Ieiri, who made a sudden debut with “Sabrina” and immediately ranked 9th on the Oricon chart.

Leo Ieiri moved to Tokyo at 17 and debuted a year later.

Since her debut, her popularity has steadily grown, and she now performs theme songs for many TV dramas and films.

Her name “Leo” is a stage name; it’s said to have originated when the president of her agency saw her and remarked that her eyes looked like a lion’s.

Please enjoy her beautiful, straight, soaring vocals.

The song serving as the theme for the drama “My Daughter Can’t Get a Boyfriend!!,” starring Miho Kanno and Minami Hamabe, is sung by Leo Ieiri.

With its refreshingly clean sound and an upbeat, happy vibe, the track really showcases Ieiri’s signature, unaffected, straightforward vocals.

By the way, the song was composed by Yohei Kawakami of [Alexandros], who also appears in the drama, and the lyrics were written by Eriko Kitagawa, the drama’s screenwriter—making it a special collaboration.

This is also a track included on her second album, “a boy.” They say it’s about something that was precious but lost.

In Leo Ieiri’s case, she sacrificed school events and student life for music, so it was apparently written with the thought that she might someday regret that.

A track included on the third album, “20,” it served as the theme song for MBS Mainichi Broadcasting and the CS channel GAORA’s coverage of the 87th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament, as well as the theme song for MBS’s “Minna no Koshien.” The lyrics express a desire to gently reassure anyone who may lose their way on the path to their dreams that everything will be okay.

It’s a song by Leo Ieiri included on her fourth original album, “WE,” released in 2016.

Chosen as the campaign song for “#Fukuraji,” a campaign by NHK Fukuoka Broadcasting Station and the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association, the lyrics express the feeling of returning to one’s hometown after growing tired of life in Tokyo and finding the strength to try again.

Leo Ieiri’s shocking debut song.

It’s said to be inspired by the movie “Sabrina,” which she watched as a child.

She hadn’t originally intended to use the name Sabrina, but while singing in made-up English, the word “Sabrina” came out, so they adopted it.

The lyrics are themed around true love.

The B-side track to the eighth single, “Silly.” It was also used as the image song for the 5th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale 2014.

The song’s theme is a desire to know what is needed and what is understood.

The powerful, questioning lyrics and sound feel very characteristic of Leo Ieiri.
