Japanese metalcore bands. A roundup of J-metalcore bands that have undergone unique evolution.

Japanese bands like Crossfaith and coldrain have earned high praise overseas.

Bands creatively blend a variety of elements, such as djent-influenced technical guitar phrases, colorful synth-driven sounds, and beautifully melodic choruses.

ThirstVision of Fatima

A band I want to introduce as a prime example of pursuing their own music beyond genre boundaries is Vision of Fatima, a chaotic hardcore band from Kyoto.

There are many opinions about how to categorize music, but the question of whether something is metalcore rooted in hardcore or metalcore rooted in metal is no longer meaningful; the music each band makes is the measure by which it’s judged.

In that context, I believe their relentless commitment to crafting original music represents the future of the domestic scene.
