SanctuaryCrystal Lake

Formed in 2002, Crystal Lake is the band that truly represents Japan’s metalcore scene in both name and reality.
From their early days, they actively toured not only in Japan but overseas as well, and they’ve now become a band that fires up audiences around the world.
While rooted in classic metalcore, their wide-ranging sound sometimes evokes the late-’90s loud rock movement, and at other times reveals a modern technical metal edge.
It’s fair to say they embody Japanese metalcore itself.
Self-HatredDEXCORE

DEXCORE is a visual-kei metalcore band based in Nagoya.
Formed in October 2016, they launched their career that December with the digital single “The Dead Sea.” Their distinctive “DEX sound,” which fuses the ferocity of metalcore and deathcore with the dramatic melodies characteristic of visual kei, quickly drew attention.
In 2020, they released their first full-length album, [METEMPSYCHOSIS.], earning acclaim within the scene.
Let vocalist Kagami’s beastly shouts and contrastingly sweet, delicate clean vocals capture your heart!
SEE YOUcoldrain

coldrain stands at the forefront of Japan’s loud rock and metalcore scene.
While the aggression of their screamed vocals is one of their hallmarks, their true appeal lies in their overwhelming vocal prowess and powerful melodies.
You can sense the influence of great predecessors like LINKIN PARK, yet their melodies never feel imitative—distinctly original and proof that they are a world-class band.
They continue to evolve in real time, truly embodying Japan’s metalcore scene.
ChamomileHaze of the Bullet Blossom

Based in Tokyo and championing “LYRICAL & EMOTIONAL SOUNDS,” Haze of the Bullet Blossom is a band that has been active since 2022.
The members are vocalist atsuki, and guitarists Tanana and Kenta Tsushima.
Their hallmark is a metalcore sound where delicacy and ferocity intersect.
In 2024, they released a series of digital singles such as “Zessho” and “Physalis.” In June 2025, they will hold a release event in Shinjuku for their single “Hi no Hana,” reflecting their energetic activity.
Their sound—woven from emotive vocals and a heavy twin-guitar attack—embodies an evolution unique to Japan, setting them apart from overseas bands.
Alone//Ditea crowd of rebellion

A band that stands out in Japan’s metalcore scene with an emotional, screamo-driven sound is a crowd of rebellion.
Hailing from Niigata, their defining feature is their contrasting twin vocals.
Rare for the genre, the juxtaposition of a clear, soaring high-tone vocal and a powerful scream vocal that at times even takes on a rap-like quality strengthens the dynamic ebb and flow of their songs.
