DaydreamCaravan

Caravan, who has also written songs for artists like YUKI, Misato Watanabe, and SMAP.

Having spent his childhood in Venezuela and later lived a wandering lifestyle, he traveled across Japan—from Hokkaido to Tanegashima—in a single bus, doing a true nationwide tour and performing at many festivals.

I heard Caravan live at one of those festivals and was captivated by his charm.

He has also opened for Donavon Frankenreiter.

His voice is very gentle and soothing, and his melodies are wonderfully comfortable to listen to.

He made his major debut in 2005.

He has also written songs for YUKI and SMAP.

His music has a light vibe that suits the seaside, and it feels really good to listen to.

He’s a musician from Australia, and his gentle voice and the mellow music he creates have that easygoing, naturally head-swaying vibe—think Jack Johnson or Donavon Frankenreiter—so he’s highly recommended if you like those artists.

He handles everything himself, from composing and lyrics to performance, jacket design, and recording.

In 2009, several well-known female singers he’s close with—such as Chara, Cocco, and Kaela Kimura—covered his songs and released them as an album.

Many people in the entertainment industry openly say they’re fans of his, and he’s a very cool artist.

Giri-Giri SurfriderHALCALI

“Giri Giri Surf Rider” is the third single by the duo HALCALI, released in July 2003.

It peaked at number 10 on the Oricon charts.

It was used as the ending theme in episode 14 of “Stain on Junk Street.”

Blue ThreadMicro

micro is a member of Def Tech.

The group disbanded in 2007 but resumed activities in 2010.

This is a song from his solo work.

Having experienced 9/11, he carries a painful yet beautiful desire to deliver a rap song about world peace.

His gentle voice and tender melody are striking, drawing you into his lovely, immersive world.

The words he chooses are very beautiful, and the slightly calmer tone—different from Def Tech—feels soothing.

am08:59Rickie-G

I was completely captivated by the wonderfully sexy, un-Japanese voice, the warmth of the melody, and the deep lyrics.

The tune sticks in your head after just one listen, and I find myself naturally swaying side to side as I listen.

Rickie-G’s other songs are also very popular, and I’ve heard many people use them for weddings.

My friend and I are among them—I first discovered the song at my friend’s wedding, and later, when I heard it live at a festival, I was deeply moved.

AM8:59 is a very soothing track that fits a quiet summer morning or a drive perfectly.
