Iconic Johnny’s songs since the 2000s: nostalgic hit tracks that bring back memories (71–80)
Work hard, play hard.NYC

This is the second single from the three-member male group NYC.
Their average age is 16.9.
NYC’s hallmark at the time was their cool-yet-cute vibe.
Being a trio gives them a tight cohesion, while each member’s individuality still shines through.
The lyrics are tailored to the group as well.
The limited-edition DVD included a video clip filmed in New York, in a nod to the “NY” in their name.
Sorry, JulietYamashita Tomohisa

“Gomen ne Juliet” is a solo number by Tomohisa Yamashita from his time in NEWS.
It is included on NEWS’s 2007 album “pacific.” Yamashita himself wrote the lyrics and composed the music.
It’s a sad love song modeled after Romeo and Juliet.
Fans were reportedly surprised by this song—despite his handsome looks that make it seem like he’d never have trouble with women, he wrote such a dark love song!
DarlingV6

V6 is a six-member group that debuted in 1995.
Watching their variety show appearances and interviews warms the heart with their steady, well-balanced banter among the six.
Of course, they also entertain audiences with their music.
Darling, which was used as the theme song for the drama “You’re My Pet,” has a catchy chorus that makes you want to hum along without thinking.
The tempo has a calm feel that doesn’t come across as intense.
It’s a number that fits perfectly with the six-member vibe—something that only V6 can truly pull off.
Chance to ChangeHey! Say! JUMP

“Chance to Change” is Hey! Say! JUMP’s second single.
It was selected as the image song for the Volleyball World Final Qualifier.
The track brims with the early Hey! Say! JUMP vibe—youthful, refreshing, and full of debut-era freshness.
signpostbusai-ku

A group formed by Wataru Yokoo, Toshiya Miyata, Takashi Nikaido, and Kento Senga of Kis-My-Ft2.
The producer is Masahiro Nakai of SMAP, who also came up with the group’s name.
However, he had no involvement at all with this song, “Michishirube.” For this track, the four members of Busaiku did a 10-day training camp, handling everything from writing lyrics and composing to designing the jacket and planning the music video.
It’s Busaiku’s first ballad, expressing gratitude and love for someone special.
Love ZambaraKondō Masahiko

A track included on the single Zanbara, released in 2010.
The CD contains two songs with different melodies, and one of them is this Koizanbara.
Incidentally, the other song, Kokoro Zanbara, is rock-oriented and differs from this one.
Zanbara means disheveled hair.
The lyrics were written by Yasunori Kawauchi more than 20 years before this song was released, with the intention that Masahiko Kondo would sing them! It’s a song steeped in a man’s wistfulness, with a completely different tone from the Masahiko Kondo who was active in the 1980s.
Za ABC〜5stars〜A.B.C-Z
A.B.C-Z’s debut DVD “Za ABC ~5stars~,” released in 2012! It marked the first time a Johnny’s group debuted with a DVD.
The promotional video was filmed with a single camera in one continuous, uncut take lasting 4 minutes and 45 seconds.
With this song, the group finally achieved their long-awaited debut after years of performing as backup dancers for many Johnny’s groups and on stages led by stars like Koichi Domoto and Hideaki Takizawa.
It’s a track packed with the dance skills they’ve honed over the years and showcases their specialties—backflips and other acrobatic moves.
