In the “Majority Game,” you’ll be presented with ultimate either-or questions.

Participants choose one of the two options and aim to be in the majority.

Examples of such ultimate choices include “10 million yen guaranteed versus 100 million yen with a 50% chance,” or “the ability to know the future versus the ability to read minds.” In this game, the goal is to join the majority, so simply picking the one you personally prefer won’t cut it.

Use small talk to glean hints or choose the option that would generally be more popular, and make your challenge a success!

Red Light, Green LightNEW!

Shall we all have fun together playing “Daruma-san ga koronda,” a game everyone played as kids? Since you’re in junior high, you probably don’t play it much anymore, which might make it nostalgically exciting! Before starting, choose one person from the group to be “it” and set up a safe zone (base).

The remaining participants are the “children” and line up side by side at a starting line away from “it.” The “it” player stands at the base, covers their eyes, and says, “Daruma-san koronda.” When they finish, they turn to face the children and try to catch anyone who’s moving.

The children aim to run up and tag “it”!

KabaddiNEW!

Simply put, “kabaddi” is a game of tag.

You form two teams of seven and select one player from your team to be the raider.

The remaining six become defenders.

The defenders protect their own side, while the raider enters the opponents’ half and moves to tag the defenders there.

If the raider returns to their own side after tagging, they score points.

The number of people tagged equals the points scored, and if the raider fails to return after tagging, the opposing team gets the points.

If a defender is tagged, they should try to catch the opposing team’s raider!

Here’s a game called “Helium Ring” that uses a hula hoop.

Make a group of several people, form a circle, have everyone extend both index fingers, and place the hula hoop on top of them.

Then, in that position, simply lower the hula hoop to the floor.

It might sound easy, but unless everyone matches their height and lowers it slowly, the hula hoop will slip off.

If you drop it, the challenge fails, so coordinate with everyone and make it a success.

There are various ways to enjoy the “Ishin Denshin” game, but the basic rule is that participants try to match their answers to a given prompt.

For example, if the prompt is “a red fruit,” the challenge is successful if everyone answers “apple.” If even one person answers “strawberry,” it’s a failure.

You need to imagine and answer with something that everyone is likely to say among the items associated with the prompt.

This game offers various answering methods—such as using the last character of the prompt or having participants write one character each—so feel free to enjoy it in whatever style you like.

The leader describes the shape only verbally, and the respondent listens and draws the shape to recreate it.

For example, the leader might say, “First, draw a large square in the center,” and “Draw a slightly smaller square to its right,” carefully choosing words so the respondent can draw without mistakes.

It seems simple, yet it’s a game that reveals just how differently people perceive and interpret things.

If respondents play in pairs, they can compare their finished drawings at the end and enjoy the differences.

Prince Shōtoku gameNEW!

In the “Prince Shōtoku Game,” inspired by a famous episode about Prince Shōtoku, multiple people speak at once and you try to distinguish what each person said.

The respondent focuses intently, picks out everyone’s words, and if they can answer all of them correctly, the challenge is a success! Long sentences make it much harder, so start with short words at first.

Choosing a theme makes it enjoyable even for first-timers.

It’s also fun to ask in advance what the other person likes and use related words.

It could be a great icebreaker to get closer to each other!
