[Easy-to-dance dance tracks] Gentle K-pop dance numbers

K-pop has become a global movement and taken root across a wide range of generations.

For idol groups in particular, dance is one of the biggest attractions.

Beyond full-fledged cover dances, it’s also enjoyed casually through TikTok.

Among those dance tracks, we’ve highlighted songs that are gentle and easy to dance to!

In our research, we found that laid-back or comical songs tend to have simpler choreography and movements.

Catchy choreography from well-known smash hits is fun too, so feel free to give it a try!

GOOD BOYGD X TAEYANG

GOOD BOYGD X TAEYANG

If you’re looking to dance to a cool, stylish track, I recommend GOOD BOY.

The song is performed by GD X TAEYANG, a unit formed by rapper G-DRAGON and BIGBANG member SOL (Taeyang).

The track itself has a strong hip-hop vibe in both sound and choreography.

That said, there are many sections—like the instrumental break—where the movements slow down, so I think it’s easy for beginners to try.

NoNoNoA Pink

NoNoNoA Pink

Apink’s uplifting cheer song “NoNoNo,” with its lovely lyrics, was the title track of their 2013 mini album “Secret Garden,” and became their Japanese debut single the following year in 2014.

Like the hit “Mr.

Chu,” it’s packed with Apink’s cute charm and has almost no intense movements, making it great for those who’ve just started dancing.

The choreography is based on swaying the hips from side to side, and it has a relaxed, elegant feel.

It’s not only easy to try casually, but it also leaves you feeling cheerful!

ButterBTS

ButterBTS

Released as a digital single in 2021, BTS’s “Butter” became a massive hit, and its dance was embraced by many people.

The choreography, set to an electronic sound perfect for dancing, also became popular in Japan.

You may have seen the chorus choreography frequently on social media.

Since the steps are the main focus and the hand movements layer on top, it’s best to practice the steps first.

After that, if you check which step timing the hands come in on, you’ll nail it! The verse and the later dance sections feature sharp choreography, so there are many things to keep in mind—steps, body usage, contrasts in speed, and more—but if you master them one by one, you’ll be able to dance it!

AGOT7

AGOT7

The multinational boy group GOT7.

Their 2019 release “A” is a staple song for dance cover videos.

The reason is that it blends stylishness with cuteness.

While the song itself is powerful and high-tempo, the choreography is very cute.

Many people especially try the chorus move where you rotate your wrists.

There are also instructional videos on YouTube that teach the dance for this track, so feel free to use them as a reference.

Kick ItNCT 127

NCT 127, a subunit of NCT, released the energetic track “Kick It” in March 2020.

The choreography combines powerful moves with groovy elements, blending dance styles from hip-hop and swag.

Because the song is fast-paced and high-energy, the contrasts in the choreography stand out even more—keeping that in mind will help you look cooler.

The routine switches between picking up the lyrics and the backing sounds, so by clearly recognizing which sound you’re hitting at any moment, you can better control the intensity of your movements.

Be sure to keep these points in mind and give it a try!

MORE&MORETwice

TWICE “MORE & MORE” M/V
MORE&MORETwice

The choreography for TWICE’s 2020 release “MORE & MORE,” a Korean idol group also highly popular in Japan, is characterized by femininity and sensuality.

It features girls’ style and girls’ hip-hop choreography, with thoughtful use of canon sequences and member formations that take advantage of having nine performers.

As for movement characteristics, there are many hip isolation elements to express femininity, so it’s good to focus especially on hip movements! The chorus moves are on the faster side, and because the choreography extends all the way to the fingertips, you’ll need to be mindful not to get sloppy.

Red FlavorRed Velvet

Red FlavorRed Velvet

Red Velvet’s lead track from their 2015 mini-album, “Red Flavor,” is a poppy, refreshing summer tune.

The choreography is also poppy and catchy, making it easy to imitate! It features rhythmic moves that ride the music, and dancing in a way that bursts with the beat suits the vibe of the song really well.

If you spread and rotate your arms broadly in time with the music, and pay attention all the way to your arms and fingertips to add dynamism, I think you’ll be able to dance in a way that comes close to the original!
