[Kantai Collection BGM] KanColle’s classic and popular tracks (1–10)
Daytime battle (Gun and torpedo battle, commence!)Usami Hiroshi

This is a battle BGM familiar to KanColle fans.
Played during daytime naval battles in the game, it features a grand, dramatic arrangement centered on orchestration.
Woodwinds and brass—especially oboe and horn—stand out, heightening the tension of naval combat.
Its thrilling, fast-paced melody line conveys the intensity and dynamism of battle.
Composed by Hiroshi Usami, it was released around 2013–2014 and is included on albums such as “Kantai Collection -KanColle- Original Sound Track vol.I [Akatsuki].” It’s used in key battle scenes in the game and partially in the anime as well.
It’s a perfect track not only for playing KanColle, but also for times when you want to focus or get pumped up.
home portUsami Hiroshi

This piece makes plentiful use of the shakuhachi and koto, giving it a gentle atmosphere.
It’s used as the BGM for the main menu, the Home Port.
As the name suggests, it’s the kind of track that lets you picture a quiet harbor scene.
The soft tones of traditional Japanese instruments and the beautiful melody make it a soothing song.
Even after the intensity of fierce battles, returning to the Home Port lets you relax and recover—this track conveys exactly that feeling.
Enemy fleet sighted!Ōkoshi Kaori

The BGM used for the boss battle in the spring 2014 event “Sortie the Recon Planes!” It’s an arrangement of “Sortie the Recon Planes!” The original track features a koto and evokes a distinctly Japanese atmosphere.
While retaining that traditional flair, this version adds elements like the shakuhachi and ramps up the tempo, resulting in a faster, more upbeat piece that’s perfect for a boss fight.

SortieUsami Hiroshi

The BGM used on the sortie selection and general sea area map screens.
It’s also known as “Across the Open Sea.” The melody is simple, but the rhythm in the background creates an atmosphere that feels like you’re about to sortie at any moment.
The contrast between the heavy, battleship-march-like backing and the simple, light melody makes for an interesting piece.
Ready? Then… sortie!
SAVIOR OF SONGNano(nano) feat. MY FIRST STORY

This is “SAVIOR OF SONG,” with lyrics by Nano, a bilingual singer from the United States, and composition by the rock band MY FIRST STORY, affectionately known as “Myfas.” The song serves as the opening theme for the TV anime Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-.
It was also used for a boss battle in the 2013 collaboration event with Arpeggio of Blue Steel.
At the Horizon of Dawn (Instrumental Ver.)Ōkoshi Kaori

This song has a Japanese rock style where traditional Japanese instruments and bass intertwine coolly.
In Kantai Collection, the ship girls shout, “Got it? Etch our victory on the dawn horizon!”—making “Dawn Horizon” one of the game’s iconic catchphrases.
The character song is performed by Saki Fujita and Iori Nomizu, who voice Akagi and Shokaku, respectively, while the instrumental version was used as background music for the 2014 event ‘Recon Aircraft, Launch!’
Fleet Operations Third Method: Final Sea Area Boss Battle ThemeŌkoshi Kaori

The BGM used for the boss battle in the 2016 event “Deploy! The Third Fleet Operations Doctrine.” It makes an overwhelming impression, with an alien intro built from heavy low-end programming and echo reminiscent of electrical interference—as if to match the grotesque Abyssal Princess among the enemy ships—an eerie, slightly off-pitch chorus, and lyrics steeped in malice.
The chorus is performed by Kaori Okoshi.
It’s a suspicious and tense track befitting a boss fight.
