Polkadot Stingray “Ano ne,” MV
You know,Porukadotto Sutingurei

Polkadot Stingray is a band that keeps rolling out hit numbers with their catchy musicality.

Their new song “Ano ne,” is also showing signs of becoming a hit.

This piece tends to be perceived as somewhat high.

In reality, while there isn’t much in the low range, the ostensibly high parts often sit in the mid-to-high range, making it easier to sing than it sounds.

I think the toughest spot is the long sustained note at the end of the chorus, but since it’s also a peak moment, make sure to take a big breath during the rest right before it, and avoid pushing too much volume on the long tone.

In Love with the Mirrorraisan

Reisan is a band fronted by Saaya from the comedy duo Lalande.

Their slightly downtempo sound, which incorporates a touch of Black music while staying on trend, has become popular, and although the band is still relatively new, they’ve already churned out multiple hit songs.

Among their tracks, the one I particularly recommend is their new single, “Kagami ni Koishite” (In Love with the Mirror).

While hints of Black music peek through at key moments, the song is fundamentally based on orthodox J-pop, so the vocal line itself is simple.

There aren’t many drastic pitch jumps, so anyone with a basic level of vocal technique should be able to sing it without much difficulty.

SunYorushika

Yorushika’s classic song “Taiyo” (Sun).

Suis, who serves as Yorushika’s vocalist, has a relatively low voice for a female singer, and this track is characterized by an arrangement that fully showcases her lower register.

The song’s range is extremely narrow and is sung mostly in the low register.

Even at its highest points, it stays within the midrange, so even those with notably low voices should be able to sing it with ease.

In fact, it tends to sound better with lower female voices, so consider adding it to your repertoire.

Beautiful worldAimer

Beautiful worldAimer

Aimer is a popular singer-songwriter.

It’s no exaggeration to call her the queen of modern ballads, as she has earned widespread acclaim for her heartrending songs.

Among her works, the one I especially recommend is Utsukushii Sekai (Beautiful World).

While it doesn’t have a particularly narrow vocal range, it features many low to lower-mid parts throughout, making it a piece that allows women with lower voices to fully showcase their appeal.

Since it isn’t the type of song where Aimer showcases her power through vocal prowess, the vocal lines are kept simple with relatively little contour.

It’s an excellent song for both ease of singing and the allure of low tones.

chandelierRen

It’s a beautiful love song that likens a winter cityscape to a chandelier.

Released in December 2024, its gentle piano sound and ReN’s warm vocals truly touch the heart.

The lyrics, which express the joy of spending time with a loved one and the happiness of walking together, are very romantic.

Listening as a couple might help you appreciate each other even more.

Perfect for the cold season—take your time and let it sink in.

FantasySEKAI NO OWARI

The End of the World/Fantasy
FantasySEKAI NO OWARI

Released in November 2010 alongside “Angels and Demons” as SEKAI NO OWARI’s second indie single, “Fantasy” is said to be a song that vocalist Fukase wrote when he was a first-year high school student.

With its cheerful, upbeat feel, the song is notable for having a relatively narrow melodic range, making it one of the easier SEKAI NO OWARI tracks to try singing.

The lyrics, perfect for cheering someone on or giving yourself courage, are also a highlight!

Knock Knockpirafu seijin

One of the most talked-about rappers in the current MC battle scene is Pilaf Seijin.

He has a lot of haters, but just as many fans, and his streaming numbers are exceptional for a rapper.

Among his tracks, the one I especially recommend is Knock Knock.

While it’s not a particularly low-range piece, the vocal line is simple, so even men with lower voices can sing it comfortably.

Definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
