Blow off stress with karaoke! A special selection of songs that make you feel refreshed when you sing (51–60)

CLOUDY HEARTBOØWY

BOOWY was a Japanese rock band that disbanded in 1988.

They had a tremendous influence on subsequent Japanese rock bands, and their breakup even developed into a social phenomenon.

Their final album achieved an extraordinary 1.5 million sales.

This song is included on their third album, BOOWY.

a Day in Our Lifearashi

a Day in Our Lifearashi

Arashi is a five-member Japanese male idol group.

This song, released in 2002, is their seventh single.

It was used as the theme song for a coming-of-age drama starring the members, featuring an interplay between rap and vocals.

It’s also very popular at live shows, and its positive lyrics are well received even among young people who aren’t fans.

rock starAdo

Ado, who dominates the scene with her mysterious presence that never reveals her true face and a powerful voice you can’t forget once you’ve heard it.

Released in April 2025, this track is included on her first best-of album, “Ado no Best Album,” and it’s a hard-hitting rock number that feels like a distillation of her essence.

The song belts out a strong resolve to push forward, overcoming the impatience of chasing dreams and the sneers of those around you.

It was also featured in a Marubeni commercial, and its message—calling out powerfully to people who feel lonely, “You’re not alone”—aligns with the ad’s theme.

It’s perfect for shouting your heart out at karaoke to blow off stress, or for rousing your soul when you’re yearning for change.

If you sing it with the same power as Ado, you’ll surely feel courage welling up.

Starting OverJohn Lennon

This is a song John Lennon created as a solo artist after leaving the Beatles.

It was released as a single from his collaborative album with Yoko Ono, Double Fantasy.

After John’s death, it climbed the charts and became his biggest hit.

In Japan, it has also been widely used in TV dramas and commercials.

will-illTK from RIN TO SHITE SIGURE

TK from Ling tosite sigure 'will-ill' Music Video (TV Anime 15th Anniversary 'Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion' Ending Theme)
will-illTK from RIN TO SHITE SIGURE

An emotional rock ballad where despair and beauty intertwine.

It’s the ending theme for the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion 15th anniversary rebroadcast project.

If you can pull it off at karaoke, it’s a song that lets your expressive power shine as if you’ve lived in the world of Code Geass! I’ve written a lot about TK’s appeal in my karaoke articles, but I even find his death growls beautiful.

In particular, “will-ill” is tough to learn to begin with, and I’m really struggling with it myself.

There are multiple sections with death growls, and compared to other songs, the tone of the growls is different, making it quite difficult to sing well.

In any case, focus on your vocal cords and try not to use your throat as much when you sing!

ALONEB’z

B’z is a musical duo consisting of guitarist Takahiro Matsumoto and vocalist Koshi Inaba.

Formed in 1988, they have enjoyed enduring popularity and hold numerous awards and sales records.

This song is their ninth single and achieved million-seller status.

It’s a grand ballad, praised for its melancholic, wistful lyrics.

Lose YourselfEminem

Eminem is a hip-hop MC from Detroit, USA.

This song was used as the theme song for his semi-autobiographical film, “8 Mile.” With this track, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2003.

His powerful lyrics—rising from a working-class white background while chasing his dream of stardom—captivate many people.
