Bouquet of dandelions
A bouquet of dandelions made with paper tape and construction paper.
Before making the dandelions, attach the wrapping and ribbon parts of the bouquet to the base sheet.
Cut the paper tape, roll it into small loops to create petal pieces, and then stick them onto the base sheet so they spread out radially from the center.
It helps to draw a guide sketch and encourage the children by saying, “If you stick them in a circle, it will look like a dandelion!” It’s also recommended to turn the finished work into a message card by adding the children’s photos and comments.

Let’s make a dandelion using scissors and glue! You’ll need thin, narrow strips of construction paper, a backing sheet to stick the pieces on, and scissors and glue.
After explaining how to use scissors and the safety points according to the learner’s level, start snipping the construction paper.
Pre-cutting it into strip form is recommended because you won’t have to reposition the scissors repeatedly.
If using scissors seems difficult, you can switch to tearing the paper instead.
Apply glue with a finger to the back of the small paper pieces, then stick them onto the backing sheet where you’ve drawn the dandelion outline, and you’re done!
Marble Run: Cute Dandelion

Children are fascinated by the mysterious patterns made by rolling marbles! Prepare an empty box like a tissue box and place a sheet of drawing paper inside.
Next, dilute yellow and white paints with water, pour them into paper cups, and drop the marbles in.
Take the marbles out and place them in the box—then simply tilt the box to roll the marbles around! Once the paper dries, cut it into the shape of dandelion flowers and stick them onto a backing sheet along with the leaf pieces.
Be careful not to roll too vigorously so the marbles don’t fly out!
[Papercraft] Dandelion

This is a dandelion paper craft made by folding origami and snipping it with scissors.
Fold the origami paper in half, then in half again, and cut along a curved line.
Make fine vertical slits along the cut line; open it up and neaten it, and you’ll get a beautifully spreading dandelion shape! It already looks like a dandelion as is, but you can also roll a strip of the same-color origami, cut it into a fringe, and place it in the center.
This makes great practice for using scissors—why not let 4- or 5-year-old children give it a try?
Dandelion photo frame

Let’s decorate the frame with dandelions and make a spring-themed photo frame.
The photo frames will be prepared in advance by the teachers, using pre-cut pieces of cardboard assembled together.
The children will be in charge of decorating! After tearing paper and decorating the frame with colorful pieces, they can glue on dandelions made from paper tape or tissue paper.
The dandelions to be attached can either be made by the children or prepared by the teachers.
Please be creative with the choice of materials and methods so that the children can feel a sense of achievement in having made their own photo frame.
A butterfly and dandelions in flight

A butterfly flies in and sticks to a dandelion! It’s a craft project using magnets to make a dandelion and a butterfly.
Attach a magnet and kite string to the center of butterfly-shaped origami, then fold the butterfly so it sandwiches the string and secure it with tape.
Take a sheet of origami cut in half, fold it in half again, and make slits at 1 cm intervals.
Roll it to fit around a small round magnet and spread open the slit sections to form the dandelion.
Apply glue to the magnet to fix it onto a backing sheet, then use the kite string to guide the butterfly and make it stick to the dandelion as you play!
In conclusion
We introduced ideas for making dandelion-themed crafts.
Try taking on three-dimensional projects suited to the children’s ages.
Choose and adapt your favorite color schemes and techniques from a variety of ideas.
It will be exciting to see works where each child’s individuality shines through the dandelion craft activity! We hope this becomes an opportunity for children to deepen their interest in dandelions.
