A lazy pony you can do using only hair ties
Let’s try a cute, easy twist-through ponytail for a stylish, effortless look! Start with some styling product already in your hair.
Divide your hair roughly into three sections and clip the left and right sections out of the way.
Gather the middle section into a ponytail around earlobe height.
Then tie the left and right sections into small ponytails close to the middle one.
On the left section, create a vertical opening, cross the upper and lower parts of the hair, and pass the middle ponytail through the hollow.
Do the same on the right side, and for the final step, pass both the left and middle ponytails through together.
That’s it! Gently tug out small pieces of hair to add airy volume and make it even cuter.
Easy ribbon hair
Hair turns into a ribbon! Here’s a ribbon hairstyle you can do using just hair elastics.
As prep, brush your hair and apply a styling product.
Make two low pigtails, then split each pigtail into top and bottom sections.
About 10 cm from the base, tie the upper section with an elastic.
Do a topsy tail by flipping the tied section up through itself, then pull the lower section up through the loop you created.
Gently scrunch and lift the topsy-tail part to form a ribbon shape, then tie the two sections together.
Once you adjust the ribbon shape, you’re done—but braiding the remaining ends into three-strand braids will help the style last longer!
Just tie it! Twin-tails
This is an easy, long-lasting hairstyle that just uses colorful hair ties.
Start by dividing the hair into two sections at the back.
Clip one side out of the way, and tie the top section of the other side with a hair tie.
It’s nice to use the most eye-catching, decorative tie for this first one.
Next, gather the hair at the temple area and tie it together with the section you just secured, using a colorful tie.
Continue repeating the same steps, moving gradually downward.
It’s also great that you can adjust the look by age—use colorful ties for little kids, and for older elementary-aged children, choose more mature colors like black or brown.
Recommended for entrance ceremonies and school entrance ceremonies
How about these hairstyles for kindergarten or school entrance ceremonies? I’ll show you three hair arrangements you can do using only hair ties.
The first is a half-up style with braids.
Take a small section of hair from both sides, braid them, gently loosen the braids, then gather them together at the back to finish.
The second is a twisted ponytail.
Instead of braiding like in the first style, twist the sections.
Once you’ve twisted both sides, bring them to the back and tie them together with the remaining hair to finish.
The third is twin buns.
Divide the hair into two sections and tie them above the ears.
Split each ponytail into two, then twist counterclockwise as you wrap it around.
Secure with a hair tie to finish.
Add your favorite accessories to make it even more lovely!
Half-up hair arrangement
Enjoy going out with a braided half-up! Create cornrows around your face to add volume, then braid and secure with an elastic.
Once both sides are done, bring them to the back, gather them together, and tie the two braids with an elastic to finish.
Next, here’s a twist-through (topsy tail) & braided half-up.
Take the upper sections of hair around both sides of your face, gather them at the back, secure with an elastic, then flip the ponytail through to tuck the hair inward.
Pull out a little hair for a cute, soft look.
Then take the lower sections around your face and braid them back on both sides.
Gather the two braids at the back and secure with an elastic to finish.
If you loosen the braid’s stitches, it looks like a heart—super cute!
Topsy tail half-up
A half-up-style hair arrangement that works not only for long hair but also for shorter cuts.
It’s great because all you need is the simple “topsy-tail” twist.
First, apply hair wax or oil evenly through your hair, then split it down the middle.
Take a small section about 1–2 cm from the center and secure it tightly with an elastic.
Loosen it slightly, do a topsy-tail (flip it through), then tighten it firmly—that’s the key.
Repeat this four times on each side for a total of eight sections, and you’re done.
Of course, three on each side (six sections) also works.
It’s a chic yet secure style that stays put and feels fresh.
Topsy-tail hairstyle you can do even with short hair
Here’s a bun hairstyle you can enjoy even with short hair.
After applying wax throughout your hair, divide it into three sections with the following amounts: left 1, center 2, right 1.
Tie the center section into a ponytail, then tie it again a little lower.
Create a hole between the two ties and flip the hair through from top to bottom (a topsy tail).
For the side sections, wrap the hair around your index finger and twist backward, then cross them over each other above the bun and secure with an elastic.
Finally, loosen it slightly for a cute finish! The twisted parts look super adorable.
