Happy Birthday to You

“Happy Birthday to You” is such a classic birthday song that it’s fair to say everyone, young or old, knows it.

In fact, the song has a very long history: it originated as a parody of “Good Morning to All,” composed in the United States around 1893.

Its simple melody, easy enough for small children to sing, is perfect for birthday parties at nurseries and kindergartens.

Don’t forget to include the birthday child’s name in the final line of the lyrics!

The Unbirthday SongSakkyoku sakushi: Maaku Deibiddo, Aru Hofuman, Jerii Ribingusuton

A song from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.

In the Japanese version it’s known as “The Unbirthday Song.” In the film, the characters the Mad Hatter and the March Hare sing it while having a tea party.

You only have one birthday, but there are 364 other days! So why not celebrate your unbirthday too? It’s a very festive tune, so how about using it as background music for a birthday party?

Happy Birthday ~Let’s Celebrate~

The popular song “Happy Birthday ~Let’s Celebrate!~” from TV Tokyo’s children’s program Kitty’s Paradise is an adorable tune that delights little kids.

Beyond its party-like, poppy vibe, the lyrics are lovely too, with lines like “The day you were born is an anniversary for me.” The chorus repeats the same melody, making it easy for children to sing along after the teacher, which is another great point!

Ceremonygo!go!vanillas

A heartwarming song themed around the deep love from parent to child.

Featured on the album “Kameleon Lights,” released in February 2016, it was born from vocalist Tatsuya Maki’s imagining of himself loving his own child.

The warm lyrics portray a parent’s feelings as they watch their child grow, and the happiness found in everyday life as it changes with the passage of time.

Set to go!go!vanillas’ signature rock sound, the love-filled message makes it perfect for birthday celebrations.

Singing it for a family member or someone special on their birthday is sure to convey your love and gratitude even more deeply.

Everyone’s Happy BirthdayAshida Mana

This is a heartwarming song that cherishes connections between people and celebrates the preciousness of life.

As it introduces the twelve zodiac signs in order, it gently conveys that everyone has a day when they can be the star.

Filled with gratitude for family and an appreciation for the small joys of everyday life, it resonates with listeners.

Released in November 2011, the song was used as a theme and ending song for the anime series Jewelpet.

It’s perfect not only for birthday celebrations but also for expressing thanks to someone special.

Mana Ashida’s pure, clear voice enhances the song’s charm even further.

Birthday Cha-Cha-ChaSakushi: Mine Akira / Sakkyoku: Uiruherumu

This song was featured on NHK’s “Minna no Uta” in 1972, and it’s still sung at many nursery schools and kindergartens today.

Many adults have probably heard it, too.

Originally, it’s a Japanese cover of an Italian children’s song with lyrics about throwing a grand musical performance for a birthday, making it a perfect, festive choice for birthday parties or concerts.

It’s adorable sung as-is, but adding choreography and performing it at a birthday party would make it even more exciting!
