[Childcare] Enjoy a ranking quiz! Introducing two types of quizzes

A ranking quiz where you guess who’s in 1st or 2nd place.

That kind of content can be a bit tricky for children in nursery or kindergarten.

But with a little creativity, you can enjoy ranking quizzes at school too.

This time, we’ll share two types of sample quizzes: ones with clear, factual answers, and ones related to your class, teachers, and the school.

You want to enjoy quizzes with the children but can’t come up with ideas…

If that sounds like you, teacher, please use this as a reference.

Quizzes might become a new favorite activity for the children.

The closest one to the nursery is XX Park. So, what is the name of the second closest park?

See the answer

Do the children have a sense of how far they’ll walk when they go for a stroll? You might get some interesting answers.

The class with the most friends is Class ○. So, which class has the second most?

See the answer

Answer the class with the second highest number of people.

You may think you know how many students are in your class, but when you’re actually asked, it’s hard to answer, isn’t it? It’s a quiz that can be enjoyed at both small and large schools.

In the daycare, the most common birthdays are in [month]. So, in which month were the second most children born?

See the answer

Kids who often watch the birthday party might recognize it. If you keep a combined ranking for all 12 months, you’ll be able to answer when your child wants to know about their month.

Problem

Among the following teachers, the tallest is Mr./Ms. 〇〇. Then, who is the second tallest teacher?

See the answer

Announce the second-tallest teacher.

It seems like it would be lively even with male teachers there. It might be easier to understand if we have the teachers line up.

We will take a class survey on favorite school lunches. What came in first place?

Announcing the number one answer chosen by the children

It’s easier to answer if you make it a multiple-choice quiz. An unexpected item might take first place.

In conclusion

We introduced two types of ranking quizzes that can be incorporated into childcare.

These quizzes can spark learning and broaden children’s interests.

It would be great if the children can enjoy answering them.

Why not try using them to liven up those small pockets of time during childcare?
