Acorns are relatively easy to find close to home, such as in parks or nearby woods and forests.

They’re handy for all kinds of play because of their convenient size and cute shape, so pick them up whenever you find them.

For example, you can stick numbers on an egg carton and compete for points based on the number where the acorn lands, make a maraca by putting acorns in a plastic bottle, poke holes in cardboard and insert the pointed ends of acorns for bowling, or make a cup-and-ball toy with a paper cup and an acorn—there are lots of things you can create.

The candy box transforms! A moving horse

Let’s make a horse using a box of your favorite snacks! Since the package will become the pattern, pick a box with a design you like.

First, cut the box into three rings of equal width.

Place one ring horizontally, and to its left, place another ring vertically.

Staple the touching edges to create the horse’s body and neck.

Take the remaining ring, turn it horizontally, align its left end with the others, and attach it along the underside of the body.

Flatten the part that sticks out on the left so it juts out, and staple it.

Then, cut the head, legs, ears, and tail from the leftover box pieces and glue them on.

If you hold the part sticking out on the left side of the body and pull the tail on the opposite side, the neck will move.

Many of you probably have cardboard boxes at home from deliveries and the like.

This time, let’s make a horse with a three-dimensional, beautiful form! What you’ll need: cardboard, a utility knife, a cutting mat, a pen, a ruler, scissors, glue, a hot glue gun, and an awl, among other items.

First, sketch the parts on the cardboard with a pen.

Next, cut out the parts with the utility knife, then refine the shapes with scissors.

After that, attach the cut pieces according to the thickness of the cardboard.

Finally, assemble the parts—adjusting the orientation as you glue them—and you’re done.

It’s a dynamic and beautiful piece, isn’t it?

Why not try a craft project using recycled materials? In this idea, you’ll make a horse out of plastic bottles.

Cut the bottles with scissors and glue the pieces together while imagining the overall shape of the horse.

Instead of fixing the shape from the start, you’ll turn the cut parts into a horse by using them creatively—an idea that really stimulates creativity.

Use clear plastic bottles to create a mysterious, beautiful transparent horse.

Since you’ll be assembling as you glue, a hot glue gun will come in handy.

Flies far! Bazooka

If you have a toilet paper tube and a paper towel tube, you can make an air cannon that flies well.

Find a large open space and play together.

First, make a single cut in the toilet paper tube and insert the paper towel tube inside.

Fill the gap created in the toilet paper tube with construction paper, and tape it so there are no gaps.

Next, cut a circle of construction paper to fit the opening of the toilet paper tube and tape it in place.

Then make 1.5 cm slits around the paper towel tube at 1 cm intervals, and fold each tab inward in order.

With the folded tabs facing down, reattach it to the toilet paper tube.

Secure with a rubber band, and you’re done.
