LIGHTS ONWeeekly

A vibrant pop song that sparkles like a summer night.

It’s the title track from the South Korean girl group Weeekly’s 6th mini album, “Bliss,” released in July 2024.

Riding on a light, electronic dance-pop beat, their youthful vocals shine through.

The lyrics, depicting the magic of the night and a spirit of adventure under the starry sky, are especially memorable.

It’s a track brimming with fun and energy.

It also captures the feelings of sleepless, restless youth—something many listeners will relate to.

Perfect for a drive or a party with friends.

Be sure to give it a listen on a summer night!

ONE MORE TIMEBBGIRLS

ONE MORE TIMEBBGIRLS

A track that sings of a summer fling.

After achieving a reverse-run hit with “Rollin’” and becoming a popular group, Brave Girls released this song under their new name, BB GIRLS.

It’s a quintessential BB Girls summer song, but unlike the city-pop flavor that overlapped with their past image, it embraces a distinctly BB Girls, sexy concept.

It samples funk legend Rick James’s “Give It to Me Baby,” and it makes you want to dance.

One More Time (with Kirin, Horan)Bronze

Seeing the artwork and fonts for the album East Shore, which includes One More Time, any city pop fan can’t help but grin.

The artwork is by Hiroshi Nagai, who designed the iconic cover for Eiichi Ohtaki’s historic masterpiece A LONG VACATION, and the one capturing the hearts of city pop and AOR fans is none other than Korean star producer BRONZE.

A key producer at the popular label 8BALLTOWN, all of his solo releases feature covers unified by Hiroshi Nagai’s artwork.

BRONZE’s One More Time is an irresistibly catchy, flawless killer duet tune, with guest vocals that highlight a supremely mellow groove.

If you’re looking for summer background music, be sure to check out BRONZE’s work.

Mango BingsuCHIMIRO

Mango Bingsu is a cute number that’s perfect for summer.

It’s by CHIMIRO, the band Jang Keun-suk started as a hobby.

But beneath the surface, it’s a uniquely witty track that pokes a bit of fun at Instagram aesthetics—something that feels fresh and unexpected.

Even though it’s supposed to be time for just the two of them, the other person seems more obsessed with the mango bingsu than with their date (lol).

By the way, bingsu is like the Japanese-style shaved ice.

The chorus lyrics are the kind that make you think, “Yep, that’s exactly how it feels,” and guys in particular might really relate.

It’s a fun and adorable summer song!

Highly recommended as a perfect song for sunny summer days or vacations, Twist Go Go is included on ONE, the first full-length album by Lee Chan-won, who took third place on Mr.

Trot.

When the music video was released in August 2023, it ranked on YouTube’s trending charts and more.

It has a trot vibe, but it’s catchy and approachable, getting you excited right from the intro! The casual, easy-to-dance choreography also boosts that travel mood.

For a summer you want to spend feeling free, be sure to have this song with you!

여섯 번째 여름PLAVE

PLAVE(플레이브) ‘여섯 번째 여름 (The 6th Summer)’ M/V
여섯 번째 여름PLAVE

A summer song by the virtual idol group PLAVE, who debuted in March 2023.

It was included as the title track on their first mini-album, “ASTERUM: The Shape of Things to Come,” released in August 2023.

In Korea, songs by such virtual groups are drawing significant attention.

Set to a nostalgic sound, the lyrics capture the irreplaceable moments of everyday life and the glow of youth.

It’s highly recommended for those who love bittersweet tracks.

Just like a real-life group, it conveys a richly emotive atmosphere and is deeply emotional.

SODARocket Punch

[Official] 로켓펀치(Rocket Punch) – SODA (Vocal. 윤경, 소희, 다현)
SODARocket Punch

SODA is a pop song that makes summer even more fun.

Released in July 2023 as a unit by Rocket Punch’s Yunkyoung, Sohi, and Dahyun, the track uses soda as its theme to express the refreshing coolness of summer while depicting the sweet-and-sour feeling of love.

It fits both unrequited and mutual love, making it a great simple summer anthem—and a perfect pick when you’re in love.

Above all, the members’ vocals are absolutely cute!
