K-pop and Korean Summer Songs That Color and Energize the Season (171–180)
Crushive

This work was released in Japanese in August 2024 by IVE, a popular Korean girl group.
It’s a bright summer tune that sings of budding love.
With refreshing imagery like bursting bubbles and a racing heartbeat, it captures the feeling of summer romance.
The light tempo and catchy melody leave a strong impression, conveying the butterflies and excitement of falling in love.
It was released as the lead single from IVE’s second Japanese mini-album, “ALIVE.” Perfect as background music for active summer moments like road trips or seaside BBQs, and recommended for anyone who wants to savor the feeling of being in love.
Please Summer! (여름아!부탁해)Indigo

Indigo’s “Natsu yo, Onegai” has been a beloved summer song since its release in 2002.
It’s a memorable track with a bright melody that evokes the dazzling summer sunshine.
Recommended for those who want to enjoy a calm, laid-back summer.
Cocktail ParadiseYun Seokcheol, Sejin

Cocktail Paradise is a pop number I highly recommend for this summer.
It’s a collaboration between jazz pianist Yoon Seok Cheol, who’s active across a wide range of genres, and Park Sejin from the female acoustic duo Rooftop Moonlight.
The rhythm evokes the open, resort-like mood, and the soft, pleasant melody will have your body moving before you know it! There’s a subtle addictive quality, too, but the tones they create and the vocals offer a warm, soothing touch.
여름밤Herz Analog

Summer nights are wonderful, aren’t they? The heat eases, and it’s a time when the heart feels calm.
“Summer Night” by the indie singer Herz Analog is a song with that gentle charm.
On nights when you want to enjoy summer quietly, it might be nice to relax while listening to this track by Herz Analog.
AWESOME (Feat. Jay Park, GRAY)Loco

Loco is a singer who debuted in 2012.
“AWESOME,” released in 2015, is a perfect track for summer listening.
Its cool rap and refreshing melody come together to create an invigorating number.
Definitely give it a spin when you want to spark a summer romance!

Your SummerKIM A REUM

The moment you hear the birdsong and the sound of waves, along with a sweet-toned guitar and a slap-driven bassline, you’re already in a car cruising along a midsummer seaside! Kim Ah-reum, who sings this track “Your Summer,” is a South Korean female singer who debuted in 2013, and as of 2023 has released four original albums—an artist with a solid, mid-career résumé.
Her slightly lisping, cute vocals combined with a sound directly descended from 1980s Showa city pop create a perfect synergy, making this a track that fans of the style will absolutely adore.
The romantic saxophone tone adds a wonderful flavor, too!
In conclusion
We’ve introduced lots of K-pop summer songs so far.
Did you find any you like? I’m sure the tracks on this list will liven up your summer! Feel free to use them as background music for your solo time, or when you’re hanging out with chingu (friends)!
