Gloomy HeartNNHMN

When you think of techno music, a danceable image often comes to mind, right? So I’d like to introduce a downer track as well.
The music unit NNHMN tackled the theme of inner darkness in their song Gloomy Heart.
It’s crafted so that fragmented phrases unfold in step with suspicious, synth-driven sounds.
And when you listen all the way through, you should grasp the message NNHMN wants to convey.
By the way, they’ve released tracks in a variety of styles, so it’s fun to explore and compare their other songs too.
BelievePickle

This track samples Louie Vega & Barbara Tucker’s “Believe in Me.” It’s by Pickles, a mysterious music project that suddenly appeared and caused a stir in the house music scene.
This is one you should experience with both the music and the music video.
Reflecting the global situation during the COVID-19 pandemic that began in 2020, the piece mirrors the times.
True to the word “Believe,” it’s crafted to lift your spirits as you listen.
Turn up the volume and enjoy!
We Don’t NeedPiero Pirupa

In today’s music scene, even pop music has started using drops.
A drop is like the chorus in electronic music, where a memorable riff that defines the track makes its appearance.
It’s safe to say that electronic music is what sparked this trend.
That said, a drop loses much of its appeal without a build-up—an introductory section that sets it up.
This track, “We Don’t Need,” features a particularly distinctive build-up.
Its structure—shifting from a 1970s funk-style build-up into a modern drop—delivers a powerful impact.
Techno Is BackScooter x Harris & Ford

If you’re into techno music, you should definitely give “Techno Is Back” a listen.
Even the title—“Techno Is Back”—radiates confidence, doesn’t it? This track is by Scooter x Harris & Ford.
Set over a pretty intense sound, it delivers a message of “let’s go all out and get hyped.” Another highlight is how the title phrase is woven into the song’s most memorable moments.
VIP BusinessSolardo & Joshwa

British music producer Joshua, together with fellow UK-based producer Soraado, created “VIP Business.” Inspired by ’90s dance music, it carries a somewhat nostalgic vibe.
At the same time, by weaving in their own distinctive elements, they also evoke a near-futuristic feel.
First, experience this uniquely intriguing sound for yourself.
Helloμ-Ziq

Composer Mike Paradinas has been energizing the UK techno scene for many years since the 1990s.
While running a label and releasing numerous works, he’s known as a highly prolific artist, and now he’s created a new gem under his μ-Ziq moniker.
It’s called “Hello.” It may seem like orthodox techno at first, but as you keep listening, it gradually shifts into a sound brimming with the driving momentum of artcore.
The transition is remarkably smooth, so be sure to listen from start to finish.
The Age Of Love (Charlotte de Witte & Enrico Sangiuliano Remix)Age Of Love

It may not be an entirely new track, but the fact that a remix of this timeless dance classic is being released in 2021 is significant, isn’t it? This remix by Charlotte de Witte—the hugely popular techno DJ who was voted No.
1 in the 2020 Alternative Top 100 DJs—and Enrico Sangiuliano, a young Milan-based DJ who is also Charlotte’s partner, was released in August 2021.
The Age Of Love is an immortal masterpiece from the early techno scene, with the original released in 1990.
They reportedly had the idea as early as February 2020, but serious work began after the global lockdown.
While paying respect to the original version, their ability to infuse it with the atmosphere of the ’20s is truly impressive.
