It’s a fairly old song released in 1985, but it became a talking point as a meme on internet forums in the early 2000s, and is quite well-known among the generation that used those forums at the time.
The lyrics are composed entirely of Nagoya-specific jokes, and I imagine many people have formed their image of Nagoya based on this song.

The comedy duo Doburokku’s famous song “Kyentama.” It became a nationwide hit after being performed on the sketch show “Chidori no Kusesugo!,” hosted by the duo Chidori.
The song’s biggest appeal is, without a doubt, the explosive chorus.
They belt out the straightforward word “kyentama” with an energetic voice that somehow also has a touch of cuteness, and the result is exquisitely surreal and funny.
You could even say it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser at all-male drinking parties.

The lyrics spin a comical tale: “A beautiful sea, a refreshing breeze, an iced coffee, and my beloved car that feels like it’s embracing me—there’s no better drive than this, but… I don’t have a driver’s license.” The song is so good you barely notice how absurd the lyrics are—what a curious track.

Sharan Q is a band that has produced numerous hit songs, led by tracks like “Single Bed.” While they’re often associated with classic, mainstream tunes, they actually have some quirky works too.
One of those is “Taxi Driver.” This song was created as the opening theme for the talk segment of the popular comedy show “Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende.” With lyrics written by Hitoshi Matsumoto, it features exceptionally unique lines.

His style seems like a joke and his rapping skills are pretty awful, but that itself was actually a sophisticated musical approach—a satire of the hip-hop scene at the time—and he gained a cult following in some circles.
Speaking of his classics, of course it’s “Unstoppable.” With a crazy punchline that calls both Zeebra and Eminem fakes, it’s sure to get everyone hyped at karaoke.

Recitals is a group consisting of three members from Tokai On Air: Tetsuya, Shibayu, and Toshimitsu.
Their catchy melodies paired with Shibayu’s outlandish lyrics create a perfectly quirky charm.
Among their works, the one I especially recommend is “Dejavina (Japanese ver.).” While it features a stylish, K-pop-inspired melody, Shibayu’s over-the-top lyrics create a striking contrast that makes it truly unique.
Definitely try singing it at a drinking party or get-together.

Rapper Tokage, who’s known for his unique style, has gained a lot of popularity.
He occasionally shows up in the freestyle scene and is also active as a YouTuber, so many of you may already know him.
Among his works, the track I especially recommend for karaoke is “Hagero” (“Go Bald”).
As you can see, Tokage is completely bald, and this song hilariously tries to force the sorrow of baldness not only onto himself but onto everyone around him.
