Aim for a high score! Karaoke songs for men to achieve top scores
If you’re simply aiming for a high score at karaoke, the key points for song selection will naturally be to choose songs with “easy-to-sing melodies,” “easy-to-understand lyrics,” and “clear, straightforward rhythms.”
That being the case, your picks will tend to come from the ’90s and earlier—so-called Showa-era and early Heisei kayōkyoku, new music, and J-pop.
Many recent songs have complex melodies and rhythms, and plenty of people think “This is hard!” after just one listen.
In this article, aimed at men who want to score high at karaoke, I’ve also proactively selected relatively singable tracks even from among more recent songs.
Compared to older hits, these are a bit more challenging to sing, but each song’s write-up includes tips and points to watch for to help you boost your score, so please use this as a guide and give them a try!

Sun of Lovekururi

A single by Quruli released in March 2023.
It was pre-released in February and was also chosen as the theme song for the Netflix film “Call Me Chihiro.” It’s a simple, medium-tempo pop-rock song that’s very easy to groove to.
The vocal melody line is also very straightforward and easy to hum, so it should be relatively manageable for anyone to shoot for a perfect 100 at karaoke.
Listen closely to the original, study where to sustain notes, where to cut them off, and how to do so, and give that perfect score a try.
Bridge of Gloryyuzu

This song portrays the hardships and setbacks in life, and the journey of overcoming them to grasp hope.
It beautifully expresses the light that awaits beyond tears no one sees and the sweat shed in silence, woven with melodies and words that deeply resonate with listeners.
Released by Yuzu in July 2004, the song was chosen as NHK’s official theme for the Athens Olympics, and, together with the moment the men’s gymnastics team won gold, it became etched in the memories of many.
Loved as a cheer song for everyone striving toward their goals, it continues to offer support: to those taking steady steps toward their dreams and to those confronting the walls before them.
As a piece that accompanies the important moments of life, it delivers a powerful, heartfelt message that truly resonates.
SampleSakanakushon

In 2025, Sakanction—whose recent song “Kaibutsu” stirred major buzz—remains well known as a band that blends not only conventional rock and pop, but also elements of techno and dance music to craft a distinctive sound.
Released in 2007 as a digital-only double A-side single, “Sample” clearly showcases Sakanction’s musical experimentation: it’s a dance track with a pronounced club-music flavor, highlighted by looping synths.
At the same time, the melody has enough solid structure to work as an acoustic guitar-and-voice rendition, which speaks to their impeccable taste.
While simply following the melody isn’t particularly difficult, it’s a good idea to focus on delivering a vocal performance with dynamics so it doesn’t become too monotonous, even though the track itself doesn’t feature big shifts.
Future is YoursSambomasutā

This is Sambomaster’s 23rd single overall, released in August 2023.
It was chosen as the theme song for the Toho-distributed animated film “SHIN Jigen! Crayon Shin-chan THE MOVIE: Super-Powered Great Battle ~Fly, Fly, Hand-Rolled Sushi~.” It’s an upbeat, lively pop-rock song that just makes you feel happy when you listen to it! The vocal melody is very simple and the vocal range used isn’t very wide, so I can confidently recommend it as a very easy song for anyone to sing! Ride the uptempo beat and have fun belting it out!
Premonitory RaidMakishimamu Za Horumon

This track explodes with a raw sound packed with social critique and the band’s convictions.
It questions the supremacy of technical virtuosity and challenges a sincere approach to music, delivering a powerful message through Maximum the Hormone’s uniquely distinctive musical style.
Daisuke-han’s roaring shouts and Nao’s clear vocals create a perfect contrast.
Released in July 2013 as the title track of the album “Yoshu Fukushu,” it also drew attention for its music video directed by Hitoshi Ohne, known for the film “Moteki.” Highly recommended for those who want to reflect on the essence and meaning of music, or simply surrender to an energetic sound.
SAY KOU SHOWRobāto Akiyama

In addition to his work as a comedian, Akiyama of Robert showcases his musical talent through comic songs and more.
He already has a few hit tunes like “TOKAKUKA,” but lately it’s “SAY KOU SHOW” that’s been especially popular.
This track boldly and unabashedly puts dirty jokes front and center, and is characterized by a groovy yet repetitive vocal line.
The vocal range is narrow as well, making it a perfect song for aiming at a high score.
bergamotTomonari Sora

Sora Tomonari is a singer-songwriter who enjoys overwhelming popularity among young people.
His voice is characterized by a low register with a hint of youthfulness, and his downbeat musical style has produced many hit songs to date.
Among his tracks, the one I especially recommend is Bergamot.
With a groove-driven, stylish vocal line, the song’s range is set quite narrowly.
Depending on your vocal range, it may be a song that’s easy to sing an octave higher.
