On a boring nightgarari

GARARI – On a Boring Night [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
On a boring nightgarari

Singer-songwriter Garari has been steadily gaining momentum since his debut.

He’s known for drastically changing his musical style from song to song and has produced numerous classics.

Among his works, the one I especially recommend is “On a Boring Night.” Its musicality is somewhat close to Sakanaction, featuring a smooth, low-dynamic vocal line.

There’s a slight rise in voltage during the rap part in the middle, but otherwise the vocals remain very uniform—making it perfect if you’re aiming for a perfect score.

A Little Love SongMONGOL800

This song by MONGOL800 is included on their album MESSAGE, released on September 16, 2001.

It’s one of their signature tracks and has been covered by many artists, but it has reportedly never been released as a single.

It’s a simple, catchy punk-style rock number—very much their trademark—and I don’t think there are many parts that are technically difficult to sing.

Since the intro and the B-melody require singing in a somewhat lower range, if you’re aiming for a perfect score, try to pay attention to solid low-register vocal projection.

That said, it’s really a song I want you to enjoy and sing coolly without worrying about the score!

Go for it!!Urufuruzu

Ulfuls’ ninth single, released in December 1995.

They say it was made after receiving advice from Tetsuya Komuro—“Why don’t you try something more disco?”—and as a result, it incorporates plenty of disco-style rhythms, especially in the chorus.

That said, at its core it’s still a song by the rock band Ulfuls, with a very straightforward vocal melody, making it an ideal choice if you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.

Tortoise Matsumoto, the vocalist, isn’t a technical singer himself, so don’t overthink it—ride the upbeat groove and sing it straight, and you’ll surely score high!

Even as a duo, the idol group King & Prince continues to enjoy strong, enduring popularity.

Until certain members left, they mainly focused on K-pop-style songs, but lately they’ve been releasing more classic J-pop as well.

One track I recommend is “halfmoon.” This song leans heavily into J-pop elements, featuring an overall catchy, easy-to-sing melody that’s very characteristic of the genre.

There aren’t any sudden jumps in pitch, so it’s a great choice for anyone aiming for a perfect score.

Love Boogie-Woogie NightSazan Ōrusutāzu

Southern All Stars is a band that still enjoys broad support across generations.

They keep releasing hit songs consistently, so even younger people probably know them.

Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend is Koi no Boogie Woogie Night.

It’s charmingly retro—a blend of synth-pop and disco—so the vocal lines are kept simple, much like older songs.

If you’re aiming for a perfect score, be sure to check it out.

Marcy – Freesia (Official Music Video)

Marcy is a band that’s gaining popularity for its warm, gentle vocals.

Their recent momentum is remarkable, and they have overwhelming support especially from men and women in their teens to early twenties.

Among Marcy’s songs, the one I particularly recommend is “Freesia.” With a fundamentally orthodox and relaxed vocal line, it’s a very easy song to sing.

However, be aware that the chorus features falsetto several times.

That said, depending on key adjustment, these parts can be sung comfortably in chest voice, so they won’t be stumbling blocks.

Rather than focusing on the falsetto sections, it’s better to pay attention to the pitch differences between high and low notes when you sing.

Song of Greensoshina

Soshina, known as the straight man of the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, is not only a talented TV personality but also active as an artist, having dropped several hit tunes so far.

Among his songs, the one I especially recommend is Midori no Uta.

Although the melody carries high energy, the actual vocal range is very narrow, so most men should be able to sing it in the original key and find it easy to stay on pitch.

Be sure to add it to your repertoire.
