Magic tricks that liven up group mixers. Attention-grabbing tricks (1–10)
A cup floating in the air
https://www.tiktok.com/@takumimomose/video/6975869271419227394It’s a magic trick with a floating cup that’s guaranteed to liven up any mixer! When you look at the cup where the drink is being poured, it’s floating in midair!? Everyone will gasp in surprise and be left speechless! Preparation is key for this trick.
Get a clear plastic cup, make holes in four directions, thread colorless sewing thread through the holes, and tie them.
Prepare one more thread, fix it at the center, and tie the tip of the threads to a cut piece of a disposable chopstick to complete the gimmick! After that, put the chopstick piece inside a can, and pour the drink into the cup along the threads.
Don’t forget to act surprised and play it up—performance matters too!
Card magic you can do with three cards

Let me introduce a simple magic trick you can do with just three playing cards! It’d be cool to casually show this off at a group date, right? Use this chance to learn a card trick and liven things up even more! You’ll need two Jokers and the Ace of Diamonds, and the idea is for your audience to guess where the Ace of Diamonds goes.
It’s best to use two Jokers with the same design.
Because this trick relies on visual misdirection to fool the audience, presentation and showmanship are key.
No difficult techniques are required—it’s a classic setup—so practice a few times and give it a try at your next group date!
stab a spoon into a 1,000-yen bill

Magic tricks that borrow money from the audience are so cool, aren’t they? So here’s one I want to introduce: a trick where you appear to stab a spoon through a 1,000-yen bill.
All you need are two identical spoons.
After you borrow the bill, fold the top edge straight down and sandwich that folded part between the two spoons.
Thanks to an optical illusion, it looks like the spoon is piercing the bill.
Be careful, though—the angle can give it away immediately.
Also, how you secretly position the bill between the spoons is likely the key to pulling it off unnoticed.

Candy that moves without being touched

For those who feel intimidated by magic—whether you’re afraid of failing or think you’re clumsy—we’d like to introduce an easy trick you can try! It’s a mysterious effect where the candy moves even though you’re not touching it.
The key is to use a lollipop.
You’ll use the tilt of your hand to make the candy move.
However, if you tilt your hand too obviously, it will give the trick away, so focus on lowering your arm while keeping your fingertips in the same position, gradually creating the angle.
Also, during the intro to the trick, it may help to demonstrate that the candy doesn’t move even if you move your hand, which makes it less likely to be exposed.
Finally, revealing the method at the end and having everyone try it together could really liven things up.
A banknote appears on the smartphone

Let me show you a modern magic trick that uses a smartphone.
The beauty of this trick is that with just a bit of simple prep, you can perform it anywhere! If there’s someone you want to get closer to at a mixer, why not casually show it off? First, take a photo of a 10,000-yen bill from a distance and zoom in on the screen.
Next, set a real 10,000-yen bill behind your phone, and as you slide the screen, simultaneously pull out the bill from behind.
It will look like the bill has appeared right out of the screen! You can adapt it with coins, letters, or other items besides bills, so try creating your own original trick to make a memorable impression.
Have the other person guess the card

This is a card trick using playing cards where the spectator ends up selecting the same card they initially chose and discovers it themselves.
Usually, the magician is the one who says, “This is your card,” and reveals it.
In this trick, however, the card that remains in the spectator’s hands turns out to be the one they first selected.
It’s a highly recommended trick that’s sure to amaze both the audience and the participant.
Prophecy Magic

This is a piece of mental magic that uses the Magician’s Choice.
You have a spectator participate and then tell them exactly what they chose.
It looks like the spectator is making the choices, but in reality you’re subtly guiding them.
You can predict something from the shop, or prepare three slips of paper with foods the other person might like.
If your prediction is correct, you could smoothly segue into asking them out by saying, “Let’s go eat that together sometime!”
