Magic Circle Magic
It’s a magic trick where you instantly break down a number suggested by the audience and write it out.
For example, if the number is 35, you split it into four numbers like “7, 2, 17, 9” or “12, 14, 3, 6.” Anyone can do it if they think about it, but producing it in an instant is the impressive part.
What’s more, you write out four such groups of numbers, and no matter how you add them—by rows, columns, diagonals, the four corners, or the center number—they always total 35.
To pull off this trick, you need to memorize a base set of numbers.
Conversely, once you memorize that, you can instantly break down any number they give you!
Prophecy Magic
This is a piece of mental magic that uses the Magician’s Choice.
You have a spectator participate and then tell them exactly what they chose.
It looks like the spectator is making the choices, but in reality you’re subtly guiding them.
You can predict something from the shop, or prepare three slips of paper with foods the other person might like.
If your prediction is correct, you could smoothly segue into asking them out by saying, “Let’s go eat that together sometime!”
vanishing tissue
Hold a tissue in a long strip so that a bit sticks out from your fingertips, and roll the rest up in your palm.
If you pull the part sticking out and remove it, the rolled-up part should remain in your palm—but when you open it, it’s gone! In fact, you secretly tear it off and dispose of it right after finishing the roll.
You can do this anywhere with just a single tissue!
Communication Magic Through Business Card Exchange
When you receive a business card, say, “Looks like we have a connection!” and perform a trick where you produce a five-yen coin from the card.
Hold the prepared five-yen coin concealed behind the card, and as you give the card a light shake, make the coin appear.
Move the card naturally and show both sides to emphasize that there’s no trick involved.
Since you’ll be holding the coin along the back side, cover it with your fingers and shift it toward the edge when showing the back to keep it hidden.
It’s a magic trick you can use in many situations as long as you have a card and a coin.
Coin Underwatch
This is a coin-transposition magic trick.
In this routine, the coin travels from your hand to underneath your spectator’s wristwatch, making it a great icebreaker and guaranteed crowd-pleaser at social gatherings.
Try teleporting a coin under the watch of someone you’re interested in and give them a delightful surprise!
Cigarettes disappear
You hold a cigarette with both hands, gradually hiding it in your palms until it finally disappears.
I couldn’t help but chuckle when I saw the explanation of the trick, but it seems like controlling the grip with your hands would be tricky if you want to make it unnoticeable.
It’s the kind of magic that would still be exciting even after revealing the secret.
Snap change
When you see a magic trick where a card instantly changes into another one, it’s astonishing, isn’t it? With a single technique, you can make a card change to one with different numbers and suits, or even transform a card into a coin.
It’s called the Snap Change, said to be named after the snapping motion of the fingers.
By snapping your fingers and moving the card carefully, the card appears to teleport.
Once you learn the Snap Change, it’s a technique with a wide range of applications.
No matter the age, people will be riveted by a card that changes in an instant.
