From large-scale festivals to smaller ones, there are now countless exciting festivals being held.

Tokyo Metropolis

TOKYO IDOL FESTIVALFri 7/31–Sun 8/2, Tokyo

It’s the world’s largest idol festival! Launched around the time the term “Idol Warring States Period” began to be heard, this festival draws over 1,000 idols and more than 70,000 attendees every year, making it an unmissable event for idol fans.

SATANIC CARNIVALSat 6/6 – Sun 6/7, Chiba Prefecture

This event is hosted by PIZZA OF DEATH, led by Ken Yokoyama, guitarist of the legendary three-piece punk band Hi-STANDARD. There’s no doubt it’ll feature a scorching lineup again this year. A must-check event for live music fans.

SUMMER SONICAug 14 (Fri)–16 (Sun), Chiba Prefecture

A flagship Japanese festival that has been held since 2000. Not only top domestic acts but also many renowned international artists perform, making it an event that draws global attention. A defining feature of Summer Sonic is that it’s an urban, touring-style festival. In addition to being easily accessible, the Tokyo and Osaka lineups swap over the two days.
