Shinshu Iiyama Nona FestivalSaturday, 7/18, Nagano Prefecture

This is a live event hosted by NONA REEVES. It has been held in Nagano Prefecture, the hometown of drummer Shigeru Komatsu, since 2019. As a pop ‘n’ soul band that pursues a sound with a strong focus on pop music—and is active beyond band activities by publishing a guidebook on ’80s pop and providing songs to other artists—it’s also worth noting which artists they invite. The event, crafted by musicians who are deeply dedicated to sound, is well worth the trip to Nagano.

MADARAO JAZZAug 29 (Sat)–30 (Sun), Nagano Prefecture

This event has been held since 2007 as a continuation of a jazz event that ran for 30 years until 2003. It has grown larger each year, bringing together over 30 groups and more than 300 performers, and with an expected audience of 3,000, it’s said to be the largest ever. The venue, Madarao Kogen, is a ski resort set in great natural surroundings. It sounds like a day where you can feel truly refreshed.
