At that time, the keyboardist was Takeshi Kobayashi, who now also produces Mr.
Children, and My Little Lover’s music was hugely popular from their debut.

My Little Lover’s classic and popular songs (41–50)
shooting star? “Shooting star”?Mairitoru Rabā

Released on February 28, 2001.
This was the first single in three years following a hiatus.
A medium-tempo love song created after the birth of her second child.
It was the theme song for the Nippon TV drama “FACE,” but peaked at No.
13 and sold 58,000 copies.
The WatersMairitoru Rabā

The title track from the concept album “The Waters,” released in December 1998.
They would go on hiatus after this, and it feels like they wanted to try a lot of things before the break—the album is packed with experimental elements.
The title track “The Waters” is intriguing too, retaining a My Little Lover-like feel while also featuring some uncharacteristic aspects.
Parasol (Japanese beauty?)Mairitoru Rabā
Released on April 18, 2001.
A song in My Little Lover’s signature style, like a clear summer sky.
It was used in a Calpis Water commercial.
Along with the previous single “shooting star,” it was a lead single for the album “Topics,” which was released in May of the same year.
Man & WomanMairitoru Rabā

Their debut single, released on May 1, 1995.
The group initially started as a duo consisting of akko, a music college graduate, and guitarist Fujii, but producer Takeshi Kobayashi later joined as a member starting with their first album.
With the support of Kobayashi—who also produced Mr.
Children—the debut became a near-million-selling hit.
It peaked at No.
7 on the Oricon chart and sold 917,000 copies.
With its catchy melody, lyrics that resonated with young women, and husky vocals, it truly showcased My Little Lover’s essence.
Private eyesMairitoru Rabā

Released on November 12, 1997.
It’s an experimental track with a strong techno flavor that begins with sampled vocals.
Around this time, I was trying different types of songs with each release.
It peaked at No.
8 and sold 98,000 copies.
It was the only single not included on the first best-of album released in 2001, though it was included on the second best-of album.
